I’m looking forward to your spirited defense of SCHIP expansion, universal health care, increased unemployment compensation, and repeal of the 2005 bankruptcy law.
Typical liberal - gotta have the government do everything, don’t you?
Oooooh, so it’s “going down” in the sense that an ugly swelling does. Now I get it.
I’m still trying to figure out what Oral’s brother Anal named his kids.
Think “hemorrhoid.”
Despite her initial misreading of my posts, Cranky was critiquing me from an honest place, and that place was somewhere to my left on this particular issue. She was saying that my gloating should be tempered, if not completely erased, by the consequences of the fall of an operation like ORU or Enron in the lives of ordinary people. I agreed that there was at least partial merit for her position.
If you concur with that, then you, too, feel I was being too cavalier about the effects of the collapse of an enterprise on the lives of the ordinary people doing the tasks that need to be done around any business.
But good, evil, and indifferent businesses go bust all the time, leaving their workers temporarily without employment or income. If you feel that I’m too hardhearted towards them, then what’s your answer? The market’s answer is “shit happens, sucks to be you for the time being, happy hunting for that next job.” But that was the answer that my short-term acceptance of was too hardhearted for Cranky.
So, having bought into her critique, at least to the modest extent that I have, I’m asking you to explain in what way I’m too hardhearted for you, and how you’d see things done differently.
A word of advice. When looking up articles on line in referrence to this story don’t Google the words “Oral Sex Scandal”
I don’t know if I’d bet the farm on this. The people who are zealots enough to support the university in the first place are only going to give more when the moneychangers are driven from the temple.
Wow, what an optimist you are. You think Roberts is going to allow himself to be thrown out? He’s already claiming to be personally conversing with god about this – he will have handpicked his board to be the kind of faithful zealots who will stand by him until criminal charges are brought, if they ever are. They’ve already alegedly fired the professors who presented them with incriminating evidence.
I forsee a big rug to sweep things under, or a huge flaming melt-down. To early to know which yet.
Not sure what he named them, but I recall one of their babysitters said the little shits sure were pains in the ass.
Here’s an interesting follow-up on the recent Larry King interview/spincycle with Richard Roberts.
An update bump: Richard Roberts has resigned.
Yes, my predictions are again proven nearly 100% incorrect. It seems the corruption and financial abuse to too blatant to sweep under a rug.
Not that there has been any acknowledgement of wrongdoing by anyone…
A girl I grew up with an dated went to Oral Roberts U in the late 80’s and it damn well didn’t do her any good. (long story, she’d dead now).
I realize that its my opinion and that some will disagree, but no matter how shitty spirited it is, I would consider it a good thing if Oral Roberts U went down in flames.

So, how you doin’?
Damn, they had Benny Hinn AND Crefalo Dollar on the staff? It’s a miracle that those two didn’t sell the plumbing when nobody was looking.
