Pat Robertson has died

I was once told I should only speak good of the dead.

Pat Robertson is dead.

Good.

Forgive me, Lord, but I must …

But he still needs another few million dollars. God doesn’t just let people into the afterlife for free you know!

I can’t beat @Smapti’s take on this.

Assuming the reports pan out, it will be “interesting” to watch how the various politicos, especially those from the Reactionary Wacko party, pay fealty* to the sainted memory of that wonderful man Roberts while trying to curry favor with his clueless benighted followers.

* I initially typo-ed “fealty” as “felaty”. When I got as far as “felat” my mental spell-check went in a totally different direction. With nearly the same meaning in this case.

Phooey to him.

Not soon enough.

yet another demonstration of “Only the good die young,”

And here is good reporting regarding him.

It’s too bad he won’t know just how wrong he was.

Do you think he believed what he was peddling?

I don’t know which is worse-did he or didn’t he?

Similarly, I am unable to express my thoughts on the man in this forum.

Hopefully he will be rubbing shoulders with Kissinger in The Bad Place very soon.

I used to watch the 700 Club on occasion back in the mid 1990s. I wasn’t a fan, but I’m one of those weirdos who likes to watch what the opposition is watching just to see what they’re all about. There were two things took not of at the time. The first was that I couldn’t believe anyone took anything said on that show seriously. My favorite is when the hosts would offer their opinion on something and then ask Pat to weigh in. The second thing I noted was just how gay the 700 Club was. If you wanted to see gay people on television in the mid 1990s, you couldn’t go wrong with the 700 Club.

When I was younger, I used to get Pat Robertson and Pat Buchanan mixed up.

Was it on the 700 Club that an earnest panel of warriors for Christ solemnly discussed how “My Little Pony” was a Satanic plot to corrupt America’s little girls? I happened to tune into that way back when.

Some people are going to leave a mark on this world, while others will leave a stain. - Eleanor Roosevelt

De mortuis nil nisi bonum

‘Patricus’ filius Robert mortuus est

Bonum

As an atheist, I don’t believe in Hell, but there are times when I wish it was real, so I’d know that some folks got what was coming to them.

Don’t let the door hit 'ya where the good lord split 'ya, Pat.

He ran for President in 1988. My friends and I were able to get ahold of a bunch of his bumper stickers and modified them from Robertson 88 to Robertson 666.
