Even more unbelievably, it’s actually been three years. Here’s the thread that part of the story was discussed. The day of the strip with the familicide was March 20th, 2009.

I’m guessing this is where Vaarsuvius learns the soon-to-be-classic lesson: “Don’t indiscriminately kill off all living relatives of a dragon, in a campaign world where dragons and humanoids are capable of interbreeding.”

Don’t sorcerors of all races in D&D have their magical abilities as a result of draconic blood somewhere in their ancestral line? I wonder how many elven or human sorcerors V just murdered?

It’s not even the most extreme example. Menage a 3 has been running since May of 2008. But the events in the strip have all occurred within a two month period.

Yeah, and El Goonish Shive has been running 10 years over a six month period. (And how long has QC progressed in-story?) Crazy stuff.

Hmm…I wonder how much in-comic time Mary Worth has progressed over its decades-long run.
