For what it’s worth, Lawful Neutral priests and monks can worship Yurtrus by “overseeing the food stocks of the tribe, determining when the meat is rotten or too much water too polluted to be swallowed” in between offering up “prayers and sacrifices to save an individual or a tribe from the ravages of disease.” So the point is redirecting that god’s domains, sacrificing others to keep death and destruction at bay for your own people – which isn’t Good, but can count as Neutral rather than Evil.
If you figure that the afterlife is all about judgment and forgiveness, then sure, why not?
Most of the jokes about real world things are funny because the implications for Stickverse make some form of twisted sense. I fail to see how the captcha makes any sense as an anti-shapeshifter action.
I don’t play D&D, but maybe weeding out impersonating automatons of some sort?
EDIT: Or maybe that genre savvy instruction book for guards just tells them to never respond to the CAPTCHA as written.
That’s typically not on the death gods’ to-do list though. They preoccupy themselves with the actual dying part, i.e. wrenching your soul from its mortal coil, making sure your remains stay nice and buried (or, for the more evil ones, making sure your remains are put to “good” use, waste not want not) and making sure your soul ends up…wherever it’s penned down to end up.
Whatever goes on next is up to your patron god, the guy who runs your alignment’s plane and so forth.
To be precise: Urogalan himself is LN, but can have LG priests.
Oh yeah, the priest alignment wheel threw me since it’s LN/LG/NG like an LG god would have. Weird dude.
In real life it’s used to identify that it’s an actual person, so not good vs. shapeshifters… maybe in the Stickverse it’ll identify illusions?
Well someone on the OOTS forum posted a thread of links to the Giant’s comments- so that answers my question. At least in part.
Maybe succubi (or whatever she is) are colour blind
The running gag on just what sort of outsider she is has been resolved: She’s definitely a succubus, and vulnerable to cold iron. There’s still some debate about her alignment, though, in that succubi are listed as “always chaotic evil”, but she seems more lawful. Even the “always” alignment descriptors still allow for one-in-a-million exceptions, though.
She’s also working for the fiendish triumvirate that’s attempting to get the three fiendish species to work together. If she is a LE succubus, it makes a certain amount of sense that she’d end up working for those guys.
I just read all 812 entries of the giantitpcom Order of the stick.
How often are new episodes posted?
Irregularly. The author has a nonlethal but apparently serious medical condition that unpredictably lays him out.
Mathematically, there have been 812 episodes and it started 8 years and 1 month ago. That puts an average update at every 3.6 days.
But the statistical deviation from that swings wildly like the time a few months ago when he went about 6-7 weeks without an update.
3-4 times a month, at best. Used to be a lot more brisk as Enderw24 said.
Yep. You just got yourself hooked on an irregularly-updated webcomic. With this one, though, the wait is usually worth it.
And the wait is over

And the next wait begins.
Not often that you see Belkar doing a better job of facing than Roy.
Heh…Humanoid Resources.
