Order of the Stick - Book 5 Discussion Thread

I suspect that, once the Order is out of the thick of it for a bit, we’re going to get a couple strips of Durkon demonstrating to the rest of the party that he’s just like he used to be, and that being turned into a vampire hasn’t really fundamentally changed him as a person.

Then, once the rest of the Order’s fears have been assuaged, he’ll go outside and eat an orphan.

This was an attempt to make mass combat doable, and IIRC had morale rolls.

Like when Durkon vamps Belkar to “save” his life in the next couple of strips, the OOTS is horrified, and Durkon is all “What? What’s the big deal?”

I always preferred the War Machine, myself.

I guess the title “Hold On” was also an instruction to the readers.

Well, it’s only been six days. As update delays go for this comic, that’s nothing.

But we’ve had a long run of rapid updates recently. Had to end sooner or later, but I thought it would go on to the end of the book.

Maybe the next update will be a multi-page one.

Speak of the Devil(s)

Presumably, somewhere in that In Box is Nale.

“TTFN”? “Ta Ta For Now” ?

“Ta-ta for now.”

I think I see Nale in there, sort of in the middle vertically, a bit to the right. That would confirm that he’s Lawful Evil, if that’s really him.

No goatee on anyone in the In box.

Yeah, you’re right, I thought I saw it at regular scale, but zooming in shows that there are no yellow pixels there after all. Drat.

Heh heh … “Knock 'em dead, elf.” Sabine is awesome.

Oddly enough, I could have sworn I saw Thag in LEE’s In-box…

Yeah, me too! But then I realized the guy I thought was Thog actually had a goatee.

ETA: You know, like Chief Grukgruk.

Notice that Sabine is sweeping up with a dust pan. Trying to retrieve all of Nale?

Cleaning up the shards of the plasma tv she destroyed, I’d guess.

Cleaning up the TV she broke.

Yeah, despite the fact that she’s a soul-sucking demon ho, I kind of like her. I mean, nobody’s perfect, right?

I wonder how much of the underworld experience V will remember. Roy only had vague recollections of everything beyond the pearly gates.

Yes, but he was actually dead. I don’t know if being astrally kidnapped would be the same experience.
