I was surprised at how quickly Belkar realized that it would not be a good idea for them to indicate that they knew Elan. This will make the actual games awkward, but I don’t think they yet know for sure that Elan will be present - plus, they need time to figure out what to do and think about this development anyway.
I forget if they know any of Elan’s backstory or not, though.
The only time I remember his dad being discussed is way back in #50 where Durkon was present. Of course, I don’t know how much he was paying attention or how much Elan and Durkon related the story to everyone else.
I think there may have been a couple more throw-away lines, but I’m not remembering them now.
Nice save there, Belkar! More proof of how secure our favorite psychopathic halfling is in his masculinity, and oh, what fun to watch him savor the jabs at Roy!
I’m thinking that glare might be a warning of whatever bad thing is about to happen. OR, the ambassador thinks that V is aligned with the evil General Tarquin.
Hm, that could be. Note also the lizardfolk ambassador who has a message for the Empress’s earholes only. Surely he knows who the real power is around here, which means that it’s something specifically relevant to a dragon.
And on the previous strip, it’s just more proof that Belkar really is pretty smart. Unwise, yes, but clever.
Not up to my all time favorite though: “Once again, Probability proves itself willing to sneak into a back alley and service Drama as would a copper-piece harlot.”
