Clearly, Tarquin has read the Evil Overlord’s guidelines and has taken them to heart.
Remember, people, Evil does not equal Stupid!

And as pointed out on the OOTS forum, not only has he read it, he distributes copies to his minions!
What is that tiny poster on the fence in the second panel?
It’s the gladiator poster from #741.
It’s past midnight over this side of the pond, so let me wish all OOTS fans a very **Dxyye Mwp Ewxk. **
And yes, there is a Santa Claus
I feel bad for Guard #4. I hope he lands on his feet again soon.
I like that “Philter” was updated to “Potion.”
Well, afterwards, they might feel gelty.
Something I missed in the first reading – check out how Guard #5 goes off-panel in the next-to-last panel. Har!
Notice how Haley uses the last of the Glibness to reassure Elan. She really does love him. Personally, I’d have strangled him long ago.
On re-reading I notice guard 1 and 2s exit conversation about “nothing ever happening” at the palace. I guess something big, (like a full scale uprising) is about to happen.
Wow, +30 to bluff? Isn’t that a skill level that only high epic-level characters can achieve? More importantly, when are they going to give Belkar some of that?
I think I could reach +30 with a… uhm, half-elf? by level 4. It’s a fun concept, horrible to play. Haley’s is probably… allowing for Rogue… rogue always needs more skill points… call it +12 or so naturally. God, what a lovely fun potion.
… I do got to wonder where Elan’s been dumping his skill points.
Apparently his qualities are good looks and a pleasant nature. So Haley had a choice between falling in love with Elan and getting a collie.
That last is bringing up images I’d rather not have. Where’s the brain bleach?
Don’t blame me. You’re the one who read all that Belkar/Mr Scruffy slash.
I think I will now start using “You are a yellow-footed rock wallaby” as the final line in an argument.
Let’s see…Roy is way too lawful for her, and he’s smart enough to avoid falling for some of her tricks. V is sexually ambiguous, and is really not a good mate, and is also recovering from a marital breakup. Durkon is also way too lawful for her, even if she could get past the race barrier. Belkar isn’t into long term relationships. So yeah, it does seem to be a choice between Elan and a collie.
The collie would probably have more intelligence and good sense.
However, Elan is likely to shed somewhat less.
Damn. I need to pull the shades tighter.
