Spartacus, surely?
I thought the same thing. Burlew doesn’t make mistakes often, so I’ll give him a pass on this one.
Less than stellar strip, though. I chuckled, but it failed to advance the plot any.
Did he go back and fix the typo, or am I missing something?
He went back and fixed the typo after about a zillion people pointed it out on the OOTS forum.
The misspelling was brought up in the forum and Burlew fixed it.
I hope that really IS ‘Lizard victory string’ and he kicks Roy’s ass with it. At least for a while. That would be a great overturning of expectations.
Ironically, at this point the biggest twist Burlew could have would be having Roy and Enor fight.
I think we’ll get a strip of Roy and Enor matched up. Roy won’t want to hurt Enor and and try to talk his way to a less fatal solution while trying to stay unharmed.
Roy’s gonna have some fun fighting without his sword, armor, and magic belt.
Almost as much fun as a campaign I was once in where we had to fight a bunch of fire giants in an anti-magic field. My high-level 1st Edition bard was suddenly AC7 and wielding a normal longsword, and despite having about 140hp it’s amazing how quickly fire giants can chew through that when you’re having to fight fair. ![]()
Enor is handicapped too, so it stands to be a reasonably fair fight. Not that it will go to a conclusion, but they should both get some shots in.
I’m predicting Roy will take the Attack Bonus penalty and use subdual damage.
So I’m the only one who thinks that Burlew has been laying down some huge hints that the big fight won’t be between Roy and Enor?
“Well, despite the big issue that’s being made of keeping the schedule of who will be fighting secret, I’m overwhelmingly confident that I’ve figured out how the system works and can predict with absolute certainty how the incredibly manipulative person who runs this arena thinks. So I certainly won’t bother making any contingency plans. And I’m not afraid to loudly proclaim this in a manner that will make me look foolish if I was wrong.”
So who? Roy vs Belkar?
Or Roy vs Haley’s father.
So I wonder what thumbs down means to Tarquin?
Two thumbs [del]up[/del] [del]sideways[/del] [del]tucked[/del] er… I mean, great comic!
Pterodactyls, is my guess.
New strip!
A forum post theorizes that Geoff is working for Bozzok (thus his panic when he thinks Bozzok sent Belkar), but against his will (thus his apparent disappointment that Bozzok isn’t dead).
Seems solid to me.
Hah, yes, I loved that last panel. I found the comic it was a callback to.
