Order of the Stick - Book 6 Discussion Thread

An explanation for those of us who don’t peruse the GITP board, please. What did he count?

There’s a really long series of running threads over there documenting the number of times each character appears in the strip. The real wrecan started the first one.

He started counting the appearances of each character.

What he started is still going.

It’s probably worth reposting this newspost for context:

1026

Go Belkar!

(go get your daggers, that is :D)

Looks like Roy’s got the green flame thing figured out.

Spoiler alert.

I love that sexy, shoeless god-of-war.

He seems much less evil, too.

And now he’s going to die.

Sometimes when you set out to pretend to undergo character growth, the person you’re really fooling is yourself.

It is indeed a slippery slope to the path of righteousness.

He probably should have been a lot more careful about who he was associating with.

1027 Because Reasons

Nice to see lots of character arc work here - Roy, Belkar and Elan in one go (and of course Durkon tangentially).

Well, I do appreciate that we’re getting regular Monday updates. I kinda wish he would keep to this schedule. When he gets a bunch of work in, just save them and keep doing Monday updates so he has a few ready for when he can’t work.

And Banjo! Don’t forget Banjo. I was pleased to see that loose end tied off.

I got whooshed. Why was Elan starting to freak out? 'Cause Roy was acting too considerate (and thus, out of character)?

Because he was talking as if Banjo is real. It’s okay for Elan to stick to the joke, because he’s the bard and is comic relief.

So, we weren’t quite done with the “forum ‘plothole’ filling” pages yet. I wonder if those are easier to script. Or if it’s harder because he needs to integrate them into his outline.

I still wonder how Belkar got back in. Did V pick him up, since he couldn’t get through the gate?

Elan is a lot more self-aware than he looks. I mean, he’s no brain cleric (or rocket wizard), but a lot of the time he plays the fool because he feels it’s his job.
