It’s also shinier than leather and comes in much brighter colors. So the red would show at a greater distance. Like a theater prop that only looks decent from the audience.
A lot of pleather will drape (fall into folds) more like cloth. Between that, the shine, and the bright, bright colors, it practically screams synthetic. Even the kind that’s trying to look like actual leather looks very much like it’s something trying to look like leather.
I don’t think so. She looks similar and I doubt that’s a coincidence, but Sally wore different clothing and was working on the engine. Andi is making repairs to the hull. They’re probably sisters or something.
Man though, that was a stinker of a puchline, probably the worst one of the enire strip, (certainly the worst I can recall at the moment).
Sally wore different clothing when she was out on deck in inclement weather. What we can see of her clothes underneath the coat, though, appears to match what Andi is wearing. And identical twin sisters who both work in maintenance on the same airship? That sort of thing just doesn’t happen unless your name is an anagram of Aeln.
Sheesh gang, give the guy a break. Or consider the hit rate of your typical strip or editorial comic. (I know, I know: people are just making observations. Me too. I’m just saying that Burlew is permitted a few clunkers.)
Plot wise, we know that Durkula is covering his tracks. And Roy is a little worried, though he doesn’t see anything actionable. And that the Mechane minions have personalities as well. Eh.
Looking back at the strip where Sally was mentioned, I see there were two people holding the rope. So apparently Sally is the crew member on the right and Andi is the one on the left. Sally was sent to work on the engines while Andi is repairing the hull.
OK, so either[ul]
[li]Rich named her Sally in the earlier strip, forgot he had done so, and changed his mind about what her name is in the meantime.[/li][li]Sally is the man, and the discussion with not-Sally in the next strip is misdirection[/li][li]Sally is lying to Roy about being called Andromeda and for some reason Roy doesn’t remember she was identified as Sally.[/li][li]Her name is Andromeda, but Bandana has an in-joke reason for calling her Sally[/li][li]She is not the same person.[/li][/ul]
But it’s another sign that Roy has grown. He used to never consider the possibility he might be wrong. He’s now learned to at least listen to other people - even Belkar - and consider what they’re saying.
Ironically, the fact that Roy is showing some suspicions about Durkon is a sign he’s become more willing to trust other people.
