Sure looks like it. I’d say, yes, yes, and yes.
Hard to imagine that working in a world where a Cure Wounds would just undo it.
In a D&D-adjacent campaign I wanted a character with a scar and had to work at it. The healer ran out of mana at an inopportune time, the healing process had started by the time she was recharged, and Cure Light Wounds isn’t Remove Scar.
Are those thousands of little souls shooting out of the blood fountain? If so, it’s a real Hell-Raiser vibe.
Nale did have a moral compass, it was set to “Fuck you Dad (please love me)”.
Now it’s spinning freely and it’s honestly a bit of a lottery where it ends up. Once you start valuing the life of a gleefully homicidal half-orc, it’s a short step to valuing everyone else’s life too.
Or not.
Yeah, but remember that Nale likes Thog because of Thogs loyalty to him. He’s still self-centered in his view.
Yeah, that’s where it starts. But even that level of reciprocation (as opposed to purely transactional relationships) has been beyond Nale to date, so this is a step forward.
I don’t actually believe it will end with him becoming Good or anything, but maybe enough of a positive change to make some difference at a critical point.
Keep in mind that rewarding loyalty is more of a lawful trait than a good one. Perfectly consistent for a Lawful Evil devil.
And which could make him more dangerous as he becomes wiser.
Sorry, I’ll have to be be reminded: was Nale 1.0 Lawful Evil? Or is his resurrected version beholden to Director Lee any more than to Directors Cedric and Nero? Barring those, True Growth appears to me to be still on the table.
Well, he said he was. Regardless of what he was, though, he apparently is now.
Plus, Elan is pretty definitely Chaotic Good so it stands to reason that anti-Elan is Lawful Evil.
A Chaotic Evil person would claim to be Lawful Evil.
Their father is Lawful Evil with extreme narrative awareness, while their mother was Chaotic Good with a flair for elaborate plans. Each got one trait from each parent.
Ah, that’s right. I remember her planning the optimal (and of course labyrinthine) table service route at the tavern.
1329 - Throw Back
Well, now we know where they are, anyway. Lucky break for Oona too.
Also, this is likely completely unintentional but Thog’s comment reminded me of something Zeetha said to Agatha in Girl Genius: “You’ve got the brains, I’ve got the muscle, Violetta’s got the sneaky!”
That’s not Oona; she’s with Team Evil. That’s random bugbear #27.
Oh right. Is it racist to say all bugbears look alike to me?
“aura farming” ?
Is this a typo for “framing”?
