But he can move (just weakly) and, in game terms, he should still be able to take some sort of action just as Elan was able to cast a spell. It would just likely be his one action for the round. It seems unlikely that there’s a Strength-based check involved in removing a contact lens.
Granted, Burlew happily discards the game world mechanics for plot as it suits him but, reading it, it just makes me think “Well, why couldn’t he remove it?”
What happens if Sunny does get his lens removed and his anti-magic is pointed at Nale? Nale is supported by the fountain, which is certainly magical. Does he collapse? Or just lose special features like damage reduction and regeneration?
He isn’t taking a dexterity hit though and he’s not paralyzed (since he’s moving and talking). He would be impacted by:
Dazed: The creature can take no actions for 1 round, though it defends itself normally.
Weakened: The creature’s Strength score decreases by 2d6 points for 2d4 rounds.
This could still be the first round and he’s still Dazed though it doesn’t seem like it. And he could then take the action his second round. He isn’t partially paralyzed, he’s just weak which is a different effect.
I just noticed that Elan forgot to include Blackwing in the heal spell. Not that it makes any difference, since I don’t think he’s been injured, just had his soul taken away for a while. And maybe Elan didn’t forget, but perhaps the effect that protects Blackwing’s body from harm also blocks other spells affecting his body.
