Yes, i meant Nale. Oops.
Nooooo! Mr Scruffy!
That’s an interesting split of the party. On the one hand, they are falling. In the other hand, they’ll probably get out of range of that blasphemy spell effect.
Belkar is going to be seriously pissed off…
Meanwhile, Blackwing is still up top (and could, in theory, fly down though not while soul-trapped in the Lower Planes)
Given that V is currently indestructible, could everyone pile on top of V and not sustain damage when hitting the ground? I realize it’s completely cartoon logic here but…this is a cartoon.
How long do the devils have V for? Maybe V will be able to run out the clock and return in time for an effective attack. Interesting choice to have Mr. Scruffy separated from Belkar. Lets see what he does…
Why doesn’t Nale want them to fall?
(don’t kill the cat. don’t kill the cat . . . )
I think the fall is a way for them to escape. Assuming they survive impact at the bottom.
Does Elan have any healing ability?
Mass Cure Light Wounds, yes. It was a big deal when he learned it and we were just reminded of that ability.
Well, V and the cat will survive the fall on their own. Roy and Elan might need help.
Do either have feather fall, or fly, or the ability to summon a flying ally, or dimension door, or do something else nifty to save themselves? Or maybe there’s some nifty feature/creature at the bottom of the abyss?
We haven’t seen Serini in a while - a shot of the back of her head at the edge of a frame a few strips ago, and before that her diving out of the way when Thog first arrived on the scene. She’s still a wild card.
And she wasn’t affected by blasphemy. I wonder what her alignment is.
She wasn’t affected because she’s higher level, like all the Scribblers.
I’d bet she’s True or Chaotic Neutral, but it doesn’t really matter - she’s Epic, her Hit Dice almost certainly exceed Nale’s caster level so she won’t even be Dazed.
I think he doesn’t want to kill them. He’s offering to team up with them. He’s showing them a display of force, then he will say, “see, I could have killed you, but I didn’t. That proves I’m sincere. Now let’s team up.”
Also, I think that Nale really does care about them, or at least about Elan. This is just what it took to get him to admit it.
I also think that while Nale is perfectly ok with killing, his strong preference is to see his opponents broken at his feet, yet sufficiently alive to marvel at the undefeatable wonder that is Nale.
He’d rather see them cry than die.
