Order of the Stick General Discussion Thread (Open Spoilers and Speculation)

They also said she was harmless without a host body.

If anyone knows anything about possession and host bodies, it’s probably a necromancer.

And with the OOTS’s luck, she’ll probably pick Roy’s body to possess or something.

You have a twisty, twisty mind.

He’s a bone golem, isn’t he? Lemme go check. I’ll report back later.

<POP!>

Yep, here it is. Bone golem.

You’re right. I was still seeing the RoyCorpse when it was in a state of slightly less…dishabille.

Right, but a necromancer who can’t cast spells can’t possess a body, or really do anything at all.

Tell that to Papa Greenhilt.

Or, you know, any spirit that hangs around long enough to pick up an ectoplasmic echo of their old body.

I’m assuming that the Spliced souls are tempered or altered to prevent this from happening; certainly you can’t just dump stock souls into a body and have them work together.

Just wanted to add… notice how upset V gets at not being able to “save the day” by being the one to contact Haley? He doesn’t care about the fact that he just found the entire fleet a place to settle, he was more interested in proving that he now had the magical power to do something he was unable to accomplish before (and he wanted to do it with Durkon and company watching).

As I said before, Vaarsuvius is more interested in magical power for the sake of power than in anything else.

In other words, V’s Spouse was pretty much right.

#644 is up and it’s a digression.

A worthy one, though. I still have the original Blackmoor book around here somewhere. His name was one it, right alongside Gygax’s name.

645 is up. We’re back on the main story. The good news is the Order has begun to re-unite. The bad news is we have to wait until the next book to see “Frankenstein vs Tiny Chuck Norris”.

I’m satisfied just to hear the name, actually.

You know, I’m not all that interested in seeing that fight. Sure, it was probably awesome, but it’s a digression. It’s time for the Order to reunite, the arc to end, and the quest to move forward.

I’m really impressed with the New Model Belkar, BTW. Head-Shojo sure manipulated the hell out of him, didn’t he?

The past few story arcs have lasted about 20 pages, and the last three books had about 180 strips. Putting the team back together would be a nice way to end book four, so yeah, we should see them all together soon (but not too soon).

Okay, today’s strip, and V’s facial expressions, finally make me think there’s hope for him not-being-evil-in-the-long-run. I’m glad for that. Heel-turns never really do it for me in comics. I’m sure there’ll be complications, but I’m equally sure they will be handled well.

Also, the fight? Glad we didn’t see it. Nothing could equal how awsome I envision it being in my mind.

You know, i wouldn’t say that after the awesomeness that was the last time Belkar kicked some ass.

I still get shudders when I think of poor Jenny, though.

That was the last time Belkar tapped some ass, not kicked some.

Jenny’s stats:

STR 8
DEX 6
CON 7
INT 5
WIS 3
CHA 09.
