I can’t find the exact comic, but yes that happens.
It wasn’t an online strip. It was 85b and 85c from Dungeon Crawlin’ Fools. And Redcloak didn’t seem to have any objections to the idea.
I thought everything but the prequels was available online.
I guess there’s an exception for desperately needed retconning?
The books feature extra comics that help to flesh out the story a bit, but they’re not essential.
I don’t have the book to hand right now, but that occurred as Roy and Durkon left the Sunken Valley, yes? It was intended to seem really random – to indicate that something whacky went on in the Sunken Valley, which now made no sense to Roy and Durkon (because of the Memory Charm on the valley).
The blowing up anyone they sent through is mentioned in the web strips but not shown where as in the bonus strips in the book they give us a scene where Xykon sends someone goblins through to test it.
Yes, it was the online mention I was speaking of.
Oh Yeah. I had actually failed to notice how big that update was. I had stopped at the panel where the arrow was released… Glad I followed your link and went back for another look!
Okay, it’s been a week now with no new updates.
Is this normal, or is there something funny going on?
We’re probably getting a doublesized strip, next, as the bookender to this storyline (and probably featuring the return of Roy and reunion of the OotS).
Also, Rich has unspecified health problems that occasionally take him out of commission for a while. It’s not unusual for there to be a significant delay because of that, too.
Has there been any official word which strip will end the current story arc or is it just speculation? The first story arc ran for 120 strips (1-120), the second was 179 (122-300), and the third was 182 (302-484). So we’re about due and recent strips seem to be heading that way.
We’re also pretty close to 666, and this being a fantasy comic, there’s a lot of expectation that something noteworthy will happen at that comic. Of course, it’s even odds that the noteworthy thing that happens will be Burlew completely deconstructing the idea of having something noteworthy happening.
Cripes, every damn “significant” strip number there’s been speculation that Rich was going to do something special for it. And I can’t think of a single instance of that ever happening. The closest was when he lampshaded it back in #100.
Ahem.
Heh…I just became aware something – it’s a good thing Rich’s forum rules don’t apply over here:
That said…update the damn comic already!
Roy’s eating Mom-balaya with his hands. That’s gotta be messy…
I’ll take “Out-Of-Context Quotes” for 2000, Alex.
