This is actually a very painful medical condition experienced my men.

BTW, can anyone explain to me why an orgasm is normally essential to male reproduction but is completely separate and unnecesssary for female reproduction?

To the best of my knowledge, a male orgasm is required for reproduction producing both males and females.

I saw on TLC a few years ago that a female orgasm does provide a function in reproduction. Supposedly when a woman orgasms her cervix goes into “contractions” if you will. This causes fluids in the vaginal canal to be pulled into the uterus. Thus helping sperm reach their final destination.
However, I don’t think this happens when women are “Faking It”
There is a yoga exercise called vajroli, which involves drawing liquids up the urethra. Anyone who has mastered this will also master control of his ejaculation. (I’ve also heard the Tantric semen control technique described as “injaculation.”) Vajroli is also important in Tantric sex for drawing the female essence into the man.
There is a story about Ngawang Losang Gyatso, the Fifth Dalai Lama (known as “The Great Fifth”). He was being criticized for frequenting brothels and consorting with whores while he was the spiritual leader of Tibet. (There is also a body of erotic poems by him that are still sung to this day.)

I suppose in today’s world orgasms, and even the basic exchange of bodily fluids, isn’t required for procreation thanks to science… but what I was trying to say was that prior to the last 10 years, orgasms were required (in most cases) for males to deposit sperm but weren’t required for females to produce eggs (would be kind of interesting if they were I suppose) and that’s because there’s a timing issue here. If females needed to orgasm to produce eggs the sperm would be left waiting by the door so to speak until days later when the egg would show up. So decoupling orgasms from egg production makes perfect sense… but then why do women have orgasms at all? To help push the sperm along? Really? Or just to give women a reason to have sex with men at all?
There’s also a trick that some people use to prevent ejaculation during orgasm, in which very firm pressure is applied to the perineum (or “taint” in some circles) thus compressing the prostate and blocking the flow of ejaculate.
Where does it go? No one knows. Many doctors believe it is redirected to the bladder. I tried it a couple times, and I wouldn’t be able to tell you… other than the fact that it feels really weird and not very pleasant.
Some male celebrities have even openly admitted to habitually practicing this, claiming that it preserves their psychosexual energy, their orgone rays, their precious bodily fluids, or some other crackpot new-age notion.
Personally, it sounds to me as if it’s dangerous - I mean, you’re just asking for a major case of blue balls here. Besides, I find it much more rewarding to manipulate the prostate so as to facilitate the flow of semen… especially when I can get someone else to do it for me.
