Original Playstation Advert

Now i’m not a playstation fan - i have a real Amiga Persecution Complex about what it did to my beloved Dreamcast - but one of theTV Ads for the Playstation (or possibly PS2) (at least here in the UK) was bloody brilliant and i’m trying to find a decent transcript of it.

Basically it featured a variety of different people - young and old different ethnicities etc. all speaking parts of a speech.

The speech was, in style/content, very similar to the “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe” speech in Blade Runner. Kind of a list of experiences being recounted by an aged war-veteran or something.

Basically each person would list something that they had “done” as if it were a real life experience (when actually it was a gaming one) and all i can remember is the last two experiences and how it ended:

"…I’ve commanded armies, and conquered worlds. And though i’ve lived a life of dubious virtue, at least i can say…

‘i have lived’ "

any ideas what the rest was?

anyone?

anyone at all…?

For years I’ve lived a double life;
In the day I do my job,
roll up my sleeves with the hoy polloy.
And at night I live a life of exhileration,
of missed heartbeats and adrenalin
A life of dubious virtue.
You may not think it to look at me
But I’ve commanded armies, and conquered worlds,
and though I’ve set morality aside,
at least I can say… I’ve lived.
