Yeah, it has improved again the last few episodes.
That said I still wish they ( or most any other TV writers ) wouldn’t go there with the obvious plot points. Every viewer knew that envelope would get switched, nobody would have two identical packages like that ( or treat them so cavalierly if they did ) and once the mistake was made how hard is it to go up to the table and say: “Whoops! I gave you wrong envelope by mistake, here’s the right one.” I’ll actually forgive the also pretty obvious, but much less insulting Cosima-will-show-up-for-her-pee-and-have-to-fill-in-for-Alison plot point because Maslany is just so damn entertaining playing a clone trying to be another clone.
But I mean, c’mon now - you have to work harder than that as a writer in these days of superior TV, even if the payoff is entertaining :). At this point I’m rather hoping Ksenia Solo really is a random, one-in-a-million lucky shot internet date. Kinda unlikely, but at least it would be less predictable ;).
I thought it was the best episode this season by far.
And you know why? The male clones weren’t around. I never realized how much that whole thing just drags the plot down. I know Tatiana must need a break, but I’d be ok with more Donnie and a LOT more Felix instead.
Yeah, just avoiding the Castors entirely improved the episode all on its own.
Does anyone know if there’s any significance to Cosima and VW Beetles? Her girlfriend was running toy one up her leg in bed and then she drove one to the high school. Almost tempted to tie it into the scorpion friend of Helena.
That folder business was idiotic and pushed too far. I knew right away they were going to be mixed up. And then no one does the obvious thing immediately to switch them back! This is the most important thing in Alison’s world! Forget mom, forget the election, forget photographs. Just switch the freakin’ folders right now. Immediately. This second.
I’m with mom. Donnie’s a waste of amino acids. Have we seen her before?
Alison is not at heart badass enough to do the drug thing. Killing a nasty neighbor sort of on purpose by accident, okay.
I noticed Scott made copies of the books pages and showed them to Rachel. Way to go! All too often in these things no one ever makes copies of an important document. Somehow the original is the Unique Magical Object that people kill for when some scans and cloud uploads would reduce the loss potential tremendously.
No, apparently it took place in a Canadian train station with one announced over the loudspeaker as “arriving from New York” :). It’s definitively Canadian - they’ve had Ontario plates on the cars and Canadian money from season 1. Also Alison lives in a clearly identified suburb of Toronto.
Apparently it was never intended to so unclear, but that New York thing really threw people.
Stopped after the first season. Was feeling queasy well by then.
Too much twists and turns. Too much unecessarys going on.
Like True Blood - first with the vampires, then the werewolves, then fairies & pixies, then with the greek myths…ad nauseum. Does NOT fecking end.
Overly-complex shit is as bad as watching mysteries.
Who watches shit like this?
Alienlifeform is who.
Ever seen that old Sat Night Live skit with Kyle Mclaughlin reliving the Twin Peaks role?
100% witness and film footage comes in: case solved, but Mclaughlin in character of Special Agent Wotshisname refuses to let it end: “Ah yes, but there is that ancillary devil worship cult going on and…and what about the series of serial-killer wannabees wanting to copy these killings. Yes! Yes! What could that broken piece of chalk on the floor there actually MEAN. Oh…the little dancing midget in the red room! The giant is guiding me! We must persue the CASE further!”
