Orphan Black season 2 discussion thread

Giving Helena to the army? That seems the obvious answer, although that whole interaction was not very well laid out.

So, the male clones…are of the guy who is marrying that cult dude’s daughter?

Yes. They showed us 3 of him in the last scene - marrying the daughter, one of the army guys, and creepy in a glass cage.

Agreed that this episode just zoomed from thing to thing to fit in what they thought needed to be done.

Felix told Art that the party was clones only, but he was there. Lying or error?

The MacGyver pencil gun was stupid and then some. First, you are in a lab. You have access to things that can be made into deadlier, more reliable, projectiles than a pencil. Second, your victim has to be in a perfect spot, with no one else around to stop you from escaping, calling for help, etc. You have to be able to get your arm free. You are going into a surgical suite and none of the scrub nurses notice an odd tray there? One that at the very least might not be sterile???

So, 400 failures (and one near success) post-Duncan. Is that right?

I had mentioned the clone-soldier theory, which was justifiably called clichéd. The Felix clone theory wasn’t going to work, but it’s still more interesting. Too bad they didn’t have a better idea.

BTW: People are listing the male clones already: Mark Rollins is the one we’ve seen for a while. “Miller” is the nametag on the soldier. “Scarface” is the scary one in the cage with a scar … face. Charlotte Bowles is the name of the 8 year-old.

Didn’t connect Mrs. S with Helena being kidnapped. But it figures.

That Dewar is going to run of LN soon.

“Castor”? What project is “Pollux” then?

BTW, because The Island of Dr. Moreau was shown earlier, I downloaded it from Gutenberg and read it. Meh. “When people abuse animals by turning them into people, the people become animals.” is the 10th grad book report for it. It doesn’t deserve a deeper analysis. Other than the “How you shouldn’t treat your creations.” aspect, doesn’t really tie into the show.

The main storyline is not the best thing in this show. Watching the clones deal with themselves being clones and watching them handle being wrapped up in this conspiracy is where it is the best.

And not just the clones, the other people too, like Donnie, Felix, and that sleazy criminal guy who attended AA.

I’ve been meaning to post some thoughts on the finale, haven’t got to it until now. Memory’s foggy, so I’ll be brief:

  • liked the dance scene, liked Michelle Forbes having a daughter clone (though, is she keeping her in the same house with a caged psycho mark-clone? wth?)
  • did not like the “Auntie Cosima? wake up!” fakeout. Either kill her off or don’t. stop toying with us. :stuck_out_tongue:
  • What’s Mrs. S’s deal? what’s Paul’s deal?
  • Up until now, I’d assumed the father of Helena’s babies was prolethian patriarch guy, but my wife pointed out that with the reveal of Mark as a clone, the obvious answer is that Mark is the dad. no? So what does Clone+Clone produce? Is that the prolethian endgame? Something even more resilient than semi-indestructable Kira?

Wish Felix was the male clone, but oh well… hopefully Mark can pull it off.

Looking forward to Season 3. Tatiana was robbed at the Emmys again, as was the directing/effects crew. Maybe next year.
