Ouija Boards - I used to think it was bull until......

Where does the 120 years come from? I thought our “limit,” so to speak, was threescore and ten (70).

Psalm 90:10
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Any explanation for how Jeanne Calment defied God by making it to 122 years old?

(Jeanne Calment - Wikipedia)

Well, we’ve determined that the boards are powered by either the ideometer effect, cheating participants, or spoooOOOoooOOOoooky supernatural entities. As information on the ideomotor effect is pretty straightforwardly available through other sources, and as cheating participants require no further explanation, we are now plumbing the depths of the ‘supernatural entities’ explanation, by interrogating the resident supernaturalists in the hopes of finding a consistent, or at least internally consistent from one poster, description/explanation of these supposed entities.

And in the hopes of expressing our own opinions of such things, and in the hopes of recreational argumentation.

Progress is being made on at least one of those goals, I think…

Maybe she’s satan? (Well, was.)

OK then, Alberto Rivera AND William Schnoebelin.

Oh yeah, and I’m gonna go retro and add Leo Taxil, Diane Vaughan, AND Maria Monk!

From:

The verse you brought up is interesting in that is ends ‘and we fly away’ which there is a 70 year harvest cycle in the earth, and Jesus takes us away in the air to meet Him.

Elijah coming back fortold:

Here Jesus reveals that John the Baptist is Elijah .

There are many ways to explain this one, one of the easiest, one to scripturally support is that man and women are different, and God means exactly what He says:

Adam (man) only gets the death sentence from God, woman does not:

Eve gets no such curse. And she is called mother of the living (Gen 3:20)

The reason IMHO is:

The sins of Adam and Eve are very different, Eve was deceived following Satan’s path, Adam knowingly disobeyed created his own path. Big difference. Eve’s curses are set in place to help guide her. Adam must die for his sin (which I take as enter Sheol), as only Adam has become his own God (creating his own reality, outside the way God established or Satan, he made his own way to be with Eve)

Woman’s conditions of salvation is:

Men are charged to overcome (see Rev 2,3) for their heavenly reward.

Men only are given the knowledge of good and evil :

This is the basis of all the gender differences in scripture. In short men must die for Christ, women must give life for Christ.

If this means when women die they are taken directly to Jesus I’m not sure, but the 120 year limit is placed on man, not woman, and you may think it is a nitpick, but as shown above God means exactly what he says in regards to gender issues.

Don’t MAKE me break out Marjoe Gortner and Michelle Smith, now…

Has anyone else here ever intentionally manipulated a ouija board session?

I have, and it’s absurdly easy. The slightest little bit of pressure will overturn the random motions from the other participants, and once you’ve started a word, you can take your hands off entirely and the other people there will continue to spell out that word that you’ve suggested by pushing it towards the first couple letters. One evening of doing that ruins any faith in the process, believe me. People’s minds really are pretty predictable once you’ve laid the suggestions out.

More confusing, though.

I notice you forgot to respond to my last post or two, kanicbird. Any thoughts? Show me a sign!

Well, actually, what tends to happen in these cases is the professional gets emotionally involved, the autistic child or whatever never gets any better, the invested professional suffers depression and burnout and a promising career that might have lasted decades and helped hundreds (even a little) gets cut short, possibly ending for the professional in suicide. This “don’t get emotionally involved” thing isn’t callous - it’s a method for keeping the professionals able to come in every day to do their jobs.

By the way, what happens when a man is eventually reliably reported to have lived longer than 120 years? With medical advances, I can’t imagine this is far off.

No, I’M Satan!!!
applecider-wouldn’t it be more correct to ask, “who HASN’T manipulated a Ouija board session?” Heh-I think we mostly used them at slumber parties (and the time I mentioned awhile back, when my cousin flipped out the lights. Good times)
Kanicbird, so if a woman cannot have children-does that mean she has been cursed by God? (Or, if she CHOOSES not to, will she be condemned to Hell?)

She just confessed to being Satan’s sock! I call for the ban!

I think we need to know more about these slumber parties- the pillow fights, the tickle fights, when you compared breasts or practiced kissing- spare no detail.

You’d be sadly, sadly disappointed. The closest I can remember is the time my friends and I managed to find that Wild Orchid was playing on Cinemax and naturally, we had to watch it. (I think we were around 12 at the time)

Must all my childhood dreams get stomped on?

This is neither the time nor the place for this hijack.

Give me two minutes to grab a beer, and take it to MPSIMS.

I agree. Do apes *like *being fucked by children?

Won’t *someone *think of the apes?

You just described deception and manipulation, which is you are placing the deceived and manipulated, to whatever degree they accept it, under your power. It is a form of control you are exercising against them.

Who convinced you to deceive and/or manipulate would have it’s roots in the demonic, and what does the demon care if he does it directly or use a person to manipulate another.

Their goal is to drive people away from Jesus, what you state they did their job very well, you have learned that there is nothing spiritual, and your friend has learned that they can get answers from that board.
As you say people’s minds are pretty predictable once you’ve laid the suggestion out, the demons know that also.

I don’t know for all cases but in general it would seem to be a curse. Looking at scripture women who are barren are longing for children. Our society has turned that on it’s head so to speak, teaching women that children are unfair burdens, IMHO they learn to lie to themselves. Women have traded happiness for the pursuit of happiness. There head overrides their heart. The ‘ticking biological clock’ would seem to be a modern day way of confirmation of my statement.

Her not choosing to have children is her head overriding her heart, she will bear that pain but convince herself it’s not there. Some might have sad moments when they think of having their own children, feelings of emptiness, then convince themselves otherwise.

The very first commandment God gave us is relates to children, right after He created us:

Our hearts are meant to rejoice in them, w have been taught otherwise and as such learn to hide our hearts.

I don’t know if woman can go to hell at all. The choice of not having children would effect her here AFAIK.
