Our 10 year old fishie died!!

What a crappy week it’s been since Mr. Honey has been away. I can’t believe how many threads I’ve started this week. First someone tries to get into my house. That thread is here #1 bad thing.
Then Chance, The Noble Weimaraner almost chokes to death. That thread is here #2 bad thing.

Then I get up this morning to find our beloved fantail, Chubby laying on the bottom of the aquarium.

When I was expecting with Little Honey (10 years ago!!) I bought 4 goldfish: Hairlip (who does have a hairlip, like his name implies), Princess, a white goldfish, Big guy, a true “goldfish”, and Chubby, a beautiful white fantail with an orange forehead.

I never expected they would live this long. I kept the news of Chubby’s passing from Little Honey under after I picked her up at camp today. We gave Chubby the proper toilet buriel and cleaned the entire aquarium. We will be going to the pet store tommorrow to buy another fish.

The sad thing is that Chubby cannot be replaced. She was so tame that she would eat from our fingers. If you put your hand in the tank, she would swim into it.

They say that bad things come in 3’s. I hope this is true, I don’t want another week like this one.

Mr. Honey, hurry home, I need a huge hug. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

:frowning:

I’m sorry to hear that.

I had a betta named “Fred” who died last summer…He was almost 4 years old.

I’m almost ashamed to admit how sad I was when he was gone.

i am sorry Honey
our fish are a big part of our family, we cant have other pets so we are all very fond of them. we have had them for 2 years now and i cant imagine finding one on the bottom of our tank

Oh Honey, so sorry…

Big hugs from your Aunty Canty.

Thanks everyone. I looked in the tank this morning and found Big Guy has died as well. :frowning:

This cannot be a coincidence. We will be buying a new aquarium setup tonight, just to be on the safe side.

Sigh, will this week never end? And I just realized that I’m whining, sorry about that.

((((hugs))))) I’m so sorry to hear that your fishie died. :frowning:

I just got a betta yesterday (Geoffrey Chaucer) and brought him home to grace our living room. I kept checking on him about every half hour to make sure he was happy.

Hope Mr. Honey gets home soon to give you the hug you need!

That just sucks. I know how it goes though. :frowning: I had a salt water tank with a really cool puffer fish. S/he acted just like a dog. The tank was near the front door so when we came home it would swim to the side and swim up and down the tank. It didn’t mind too much being played with, would eat out of my hand and would play a bit. All in all a great fish. Then the AC went out in the condo when it was real hot and he died. :frowning: That was a pretty bad week as we lost almost all the fish. He was around 3 or so and still going strong at the time.

I had a betta once too. They’re beautiful fish. He’s very lucky you adopted him.

That is so sad. :frowning: The fish do seem to be excited when I get near the aqaurium. It could be they just think they’re about to be fed.
