Business Wire’s 40th anniversary is on Oct. 2, and our founder, President & CEO, Lorry Lokey, will be ringing the opening bell at NASDAQ that morning. This has been in the works for a long time – we’ve known about it since January – but in light of recent events, and some of the men who have been present to open the NYSE lately, it seems sort of inconsequential.
Still, this is a great company to work for, and Lorry is the very model of a successful, self-made businessman as well as a philanthropist (he’s given away $90 million, including $20 million to UC Santa Clara this year and $20 million to Stanford last year). It will be pretty cool to see him there that morning.
