The influence of what you’re calling the ‘Arab Street’ is, with great luck, temporary. Well. No. It’s temporary, one way or another. As soon as we end our dependence on oil, their power essentially vanishes, by and large.

And we’re going to have to, sooner or later. Iran, for example, threatening our energy supply, just makes it sooner.
