I know - I’m as much a SeixSub fan as anyone else, but I’m just saying it isn’t glaring in the canon. We never got the ‘completely obsessed with guy’s asses’ part in English. I always saw the wedding stuff as idle flirting - Seishirou was just as touchy and smiley with Hokuto. I just think a kiss or something is needed for sure to make it canon.
Also on Roseanne, her mother Bev came out one Thanksgiving.
I haven’t had the chance to watch Law & Order much since I moved to college, but when did Serena come out, or was this something I missed from the beginning?
On “Sex and the City” Carrie’s agent Stanford Blatch (played by Willie Garson) and Charlotte’s decorator Anthony Marantino (played by Mario Cantone) were both gay, and disastrously set up with one another. Additionally, Samantha was in a same-sex relationship for half a season with the gorgeous Maria (who never had a last name that we knew of) played by Sonia Braga.
Since we’ve named Kerry Weaver on ER, shouldn’t we name her two lovers, Kim Legaspi (played by Elizabeth Mitchell) and Sandy Lopez (played by Lisa Vidal) and the first ER lesbian, Dr. Maggie Doyle, played by Jorja Fox.
I’ve been of the impression that John Irvin, the precinct clerk on NYPD Blue (played by out actor Bill Brochtrup) was gay, but not being a regular viewer I could be mistaken about that.
Serena only came out in her last scene of her last appearance. I hadn’t been regularly watching either, so it came as a “huh?” moment to me.
Adding to the list is Sharon Tyler (sister of the main character Jaye who has animals like stuffed bears and wax lions talking to her) from Wonderfalls along with Beth, a character who appeared a couple of times, and with whom Sharon was involved.
About ten seconds before the character left the show.
Does Waylon Jennings count as “out”?
Waylon Jennings? The country-western star?
Or does he mean Waylon Flowers (is he even still alive)?
just googled my answer- passed away October 11, 1988.
Hmm… I don’t think anyone’s mentioned Babylon 5 yet.
Ivanova and Talia Winters seemed to have an awful lot of “sleepovers”, although it was left very vague as to their relationship. However, later on,
when Talia is revealed to have been a sleeper agent for the PsiCorps, and abruptly leaves the show, Ivanova says, “I think I loved her.”
Just a nitpick, but your sentence structure makes it sound like the two things happened immediately after one another. In fact, it took a few episodes (months?) for her to admit to what she felt.
Heh. Waylon Smithers, of course. From what I’ve seen he’s leaning out the closet door but not yet stepped into the living room.
Nitpick, nitpick, nitpick.
Wait a minute… Folks here are consistently referring to SNL’s Pat as “her”… Was that ever made explicit on the show, or is that just speculation?
And there was a gay male paramedic on ER, too, that I didn’t notice if anyone mentioned. I don’t remember if he ever had a boyfriend appear on the show.
Julia Sweeney has consistently refused to reveal Pat’s sex.
There was a gay paramedic, that was Raoul, whose partner Shep dated Carol Hathaway. He was killed in a fire. There is currently a gay nurse, Yosh Takata, played by Gedde Watanabe, best known as Long Duc Dong from 16 Candles.
