I have an email account that I use Outlook at home, but also monitor it throughout the day on an Android phone. I have both accounts set to “leave a copy of message on the server”

But if during the day a message comes to my Android phone, it will not download to Outlook. I can go to the webpage and the message remains on the server. As near as I can tell, the Android phone is marking the message as “read” so that evening Outlook doesn’t download it.

Is there a way that I can have my messages show up on the phone during the day, but still be in a state where Outlook will download them that evening?

Can you use IMAP and mark messages as un-read after you preview them on the phone?

No. It’s a POP/SMTP.

You could use gmail or other free email service, which can import from pop3 and export as imap
Oh its the gmail pop3 server which has this bug, here is there solution, apart from using enabling and using imap,
