One of the things that really irritates me about Microsoft programs is that it’s very easy to change something inadvertently, and there’s no (obvious) way of changing it back.
My computer being slow, I clicked before it was ready and changed the view in Outlook. I now have emails separated by date. (Or they would be if I had older emails.) There’s a header that says ‘Yesterday’. I don’t want that. I want all of my emails to be in a single group.
How do I get back to that?
OK - assuming we have the same version, try this.
Go to the View Tab. You should see a box in the middle area that has Date, From, To, etc. There’s a scroll bar on the right hand side of that.
Click the scroll bar.
The box should expand.
You’ll see an click box that reads “Show in Groups”. Unclick this.
This should remove the grouping that you’re seeing.
But that’s if our versions match.
Your version must be different from mine, but I did find ‘Show in groups’ in the ‘Arrange by’ icon under the View tab.
Thanks.
I hate Outlook. But glad I gave enough clues to get you there.
One thing about nearly ALL GUI-type programs – from Microsoft, and Firefox and just about everything else.
There are always things to click on that fiddle with your settings in ways you can’t see obviously how to get back. But those same settings are usually also shown on some “Settings” or “Preferences” screen, that you can find by poking through the main menus.
A common example: You get a little pop-up message box with some message, and a check-box labeled “Don’t show this message again.” So if you check it and close the message window, then you’ll never see that message again. But what if you did that by mistake, or otherwise want to un-do that change? You can’t just uncheck the box next time you see the message, because you won’t see it again. But if you poke through the Configuration or Settings or Preferences screens (whatever you app calls them), you can probably find the same setting there, where you can check or uncheck it to your heart’s content.
