"Over and Over" Nana Mouskouri

Though barely known in the U.S., singer Nana Mouskouri seems to have a considerable following all over the rest of world. The other day I first heard the song “Over and Over”, which has a simple yet haunting melody. Did she write this song herself? I believe she might have written the words, but borrowed the tune. First of all, it’s in 6/8, which is unusual for pop songs, but also it sounds familiar, though I can’t quite place it. Anyone know what is it?
(The first person that says it’s “Mexican Hat Dance” gets written out of my will.)

She has a nice, clear voice, but it’s not really my style of music.

The only real exposure I’ve had to her has been through commercials for her albums a few years ago and the Two Ronnies parodying her as Nana Moussaka.

The Two Ronnies! I havn’t seen them in years! Now, THEY were quality comedy!
