Ow, My Hangover, Or How We Became Catholic: An MMP

My boss whines. I think he’s sixty, and he whines.
You know what’s really sexy? A guy washing dishes, which is what Mr. Lissar is doing right now. It’s the ultimate aphrodisiac.

Tel, maybe idiot boy is the one who needs a pity fuck. Hope whiney boss and the throat get better.

Haze, I’d dump him. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Look around, just for the halibut.

He’s somewhere in the realm of middle-aged, fifties or thereabouts. He’s just whiny because I can’t always come in when they would prefer me to on extra days. I told him when I started that I didn’t have a car and had to be dropped off at work, and thus would be at the mercy of someone else. He said this was fine. But now he gripes. I don’t need to be there when he and the other CPA are there; in fact, sometimes I prefer it if they’re not there, because then I can actually finish something without having to make copies or something for one of them every five minutes. Ah, the life of a flunky.

Whew. Taking a break. The sheetrock is up in the bathroom and **FCD ** just finshed with the mud. I’ve painted the bedroom ceiling and in a few minutes, I’m going to do the bathroom ceiling - all 40 square feet of it. Then I quit. Critters have been fed - the whiney little brats. Kiln is cooling down - it should be under 1000 degrees F by now. I won’t be able to unload it till tomorrow. Oh well.

Speaking of tomorrow, my plans are to paint all the trim, which means I’ll spend hours in the basement. Which means I can do laundry at the same time. That’ll work. One of these months, I’ll have a relaxing weekend, and I’ll just implode!

Methinks Papa John is making supper tonight. mmmmmmmmm pizza…

Haze let me chime in with another go find someone worthy of you. You’re much, much too good for him. Oh and ignore the dirty old men [sub]Bobbio[/sub].

We got most of the tree and bush plantin’ done. The guy that was diggin’ all the holes had to stop cause sump’n on his hole digger thingy messed up yesterday. So, he’s supposed to be back Monday to finish hole diggin’. Then plantin’ will commence again. We planted Cleveland Pears, River Birches, two hyuuuuuuuge magnolias and a buncha tea olive bushes. Tonight would be a good time for that alledged rain to show up. Oh, and I’m gonna be one biiiiiiiiig ache in the mornin’ I just know it.

And… I was not the only one who did not shave. We were a scruffy (Hi, Scruffy!) lookin’ bunch. Well, the guys anyways.

ETA: The sketti sauce is smellin’ tres yum! Sallit, crusty garlic bread and sketties for supper. MMMMMMMMM…

Well, the sky is very overcast and I’m hearing lots of ominous rumbling noises, but so far no rain. I wish it would hurry up.

Does anyone know anything about clematis vines? I have two planted in my front flower bed, trained to go up the supports for the front porch. They are blooming beautifully - different shades of purple - except for this one really really strange bloom. It looks rather like a chrysanthemum. I’ll try to get a picture of it and post it. It is very strange and doesn’t look anything like the other dozen or so blooms on the plant.

Haze dump him. Don’t invest your emotions in someone who doesn’t return them. If he’s cheating on his girlfriend he’s most likely not very trustworthy anyway - especially if he is continuing to do it and won’t tell her there is someone else.

More thunder. The fuzzbutts are not amused.

Look what Mr Rebo bought me! Awesome! I stuck that bad boy up the chicken and it’s on the grill. Got lemons and limes in there, too.

Earlier I helped hubby clean out the attic. I found 3 of these! Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, and Ted DiBiosi. My son used to play with them all the time! They are circa 1988… Very stained and dusty, so I’m washing them. If he doesn’t want them I guess we’ll try to sell them on Ebay. Doesn’t look like they are going for much, though!

Thanks for the advice/support, everyone. I’ve spent most of the day reading trashy novels, talking with friends on the phone, and consuming large quantities of tea and sugar, which helps.

I don’t know what’s possessed me - probably all the Catholic guilt that’s been building up for the past few months - but I’ve prettied myself up to attend mass this evening. It’s really odd how I think of the Catholic church as a comfort zone despite the fact that I am no longer a devout believer anymore. I’m always fascinated by the debate surrounding why Catholicism has such a hold on believers and former believers alike. Ah, well. I should probably go to Confession as well but it’d take forever and a day for me to confess everything I’ve done since my last one.

Have a lovely evening, everyone!

A phrase that will stick in my head for at least the rest of the night.

I have some salmon on the grille, some cheesy noodles simmering and about to dine. Later, a friend and another guy are playing their guitar/fiddle thing at a bar nearby, we’ll run out and see that.

We met the painter this morning, liked him - and his price. He came pretty highly recommended by some neighbors we trust, so it looks like he’s the man. Paint wise anyway.

What an "interesting"evening. Turns out that 'im indoors has lied to me about some of the very basics of our relationship. I think it’s going to be a long night. Luckily I have a friend with an empty house that I can rent.

Packing, anyone?

:frowning: How very sad; I’m sorry to read about this. We’ve all got big, wide shoulders if you need to vent.

The kitchen is clean, but I need to run the vacuum. I don’t know why I keep putting it off. Well, I do, really. I’m just feeling kind of…off, and am not overly excited about going out tonight. The fact that I truly dislike one of the people that’s going is probably part of it. Unfortunately, she’s the wife of one of the friends and I really like him, so I make nice and smile around her.
Fortunately, I don’t have to see her very often.

Sigh…I guess I should move my ass and finish up.

BooFae, we’re here if you need us; and my e-mail is in my profile if you wish to vent privately. I’m sorry to hear your news.

It is now drizzling with lots of thunder. Magic is trying to steal my chocolate so I must run…

Oh BooFae! So sad to hear; will be thinking of you.{{{{HUGS}}}} And Haze, you are so much better than he is, and you -deserve- better … as does ScareyFaerie.

No storminess here yet - supposed to come tomorrow. I made a batch of brownies, made the chewy kind and they turned out great. Getting ready to have dinner in a few, and it smells nummy! FCM, we had Pappa John’s last night and it was good (we hadn’t had pizza in a while): pepperoni/mushroom and pepperoni/sausage. I actually prefer Three Brother’s pizza (from the original site), but they don’t deliver. :frowning: But Pappa’s is my second favorite.

I imagine we’ll probably have pizza or something like that tonight; at least for the kids.

Just talked to hubby, they plan on leaving the paintball field in 30 to 45 minutes so he can relax for a bit before our friends arrive.

I need to check and see if he has clean jeans and stuff to wear. He brought that up when he called just now. So, let us hope there are some clean clothes. He could have washed some when he came yesterday. Fortunately for him, we have three hours before we have to leave.

I guess I better check on those clothes now.

**tarra ** - Papa John’s doesn’t deliver here - we’re too far away - 7 whole miles! So I order on line and go pick it up.

And today, I didn’t mind, because I made 2 discoveries. First, there’s a new place opening next to Papa John’s - Buffalo Wings and Beer - it’s a restaurant/bar/pool hall. Possibilities there… And next to that place, in what used to be a long-deserted Super Fresh grocery store, a new McKay’s is getting ready to open. That’s a local grocery chain - local as in just in my county. This will be their 5th store and it’s gonna be the closest one to me by at least 2 miles. So YAY!

And I fibbed about quitting for the night. After we finished pizza (yum) I decided to take down the border in the guest bathroom, since I’m going to paint the ceiling in there tomorrow. And while I was doing it, I discovered that there used to be contac paper on the walls in there. Anyway, the border came down easily, and now there’s a band of ugly blue paint that’ll need a coat of primer. Getting a head start on the next project… And I’m now showered and in slug attire of robe and slippers.

**BooFae ** - Many hugs coming your way. When and if you want to vent, we’re all here. And if you don’t want to share, that’s cool too. But you know we’re all on your side.

BooFae, I wish I could invite you over so we could eat loads of ice cream and have a bitch-fest. You know we’re all here if you want to vent. :: hugs ::

**BooFae, ** I’m sorry. As has been said, we’re here if you need to vent.

Work sucked, as usual. Four more months until vacation. We have a flash flood watch till 0600.

{{{{BooFae}}}} Vent if you need.

FCM, I had Papa Johns’ Tuesday and Wednesday. Mine delivers, I could see the store from here, if I cut down a couple of trees.

Lucky you. Mayberry might have ‘lectricity an’ indoor plumbing, but we don’t even have McDonalds in the county.

Ooooh, you have 'lectricity, Bobbio? I’m right impressed.

Sorry to hear your news BooFae. And I’ll add my voice to the chorus of “we’re here for you.”

Hank, may I also echo that you should RUN. RUN in the opposite direction. I know that you have friends in common, but you can still avoid him in the crowd.

I’m sleepy. I have all my tax stuff put together, I think. Just gotta do the TaxCut thing tomorrow a.m. and I’ll be done.

Everyone have a lovely Saturday evening.
