In the spirit of American Independence Day, you are FREE to post whatever you want. As opposed to, well, you know, our usual MMPs where there’s occasionally a shred of a topic.
So be safe with your fireworks, don’t drink and drive, and feel FREE to say whatever!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and hyoooooooomid with a predicted high of 97. This is what Fourth of July weather is down in south Jawja.
Today shall consist of hangin’ out at the pool, drinkin’ beerverages, snackin’ and consuming burgers, N.O.T. sallit, corn on the cob and watermelon. MMMMMM…
Update from last thread - guys are coming to look at the cabinets at 9 this morning. Yay! Hope they take 'em - **FCD **is itching to start tearing the basement apart! In fact, he’s already torn out some of the sheetrock in the bedroom, looking for the 3rd support beam (he found it.)
I’ve got 2 other computers to check for personal data. I have a coworker who rebuilds them - I may offer them to him in exchange for him removing my data to a disk. We’ll see come tomorrow.
Breakfast has been ingested (leftover pizza) and caffeination is in progress. We had rain last night and t-boomers, so the domestic boomers were pretty much non-existent. No clue if tonight’s fireworks will be rained out, but we weren’t planning to attend, so there’s that.
**donkeybear **- I agree with you about sewing together pieces to make an afghan. I’ve done it, but I don’t like to. Nor do I like sewing strips together, but those patterns can usually be modified to be done as a single entity. Actually, I’m doing hats and scarves right now, but I’m getting bored and I’m just on hat #3, so I expect to start an afghan again soon.
And I think that brings me up to date. Except for the stuff I’ve forgotten…
I guess this a good opportunity to dip my toes into the MMP waters.
If I can drag my husband away from the stupid server he’s rebuilding, I have two fences to take down today and bush-hogging to do before the tree guy comes Weds to remove 2 dead, 2 dying, and 1 alreadyfallentree. (Missed the house and the wires by about 4 inches.)
Then this week is going to be crazy as I get ready for our vacation. Leaving 7 horses and 9 cats (well, 8, the epileptic one is coming with us) and the house for someone else to look after for 14 days takes some streamlining, not to mention all the crap I need to gather that needs to go with us. But it’s worth it
Dang, saje, that tree did come a little close! And you reminded me that In need to call the tree guy about taking down 3 or 4 trees that we need to go away. One is a triple-trunk beast that’s close to the house and I think it’s dying. There’s a smaller one near it that I want to go to make for easier parking. Plus 2 farther out in the yard that get in my way when I mow - one is dying anyway and the other is not a nice tree - plus it’s blocking the dogwood.
Your vacation spot looks loverly - where is it?
Time for me to get out of the robe and into clothes…
I had a dream last night that I posted something in the MMP and damn if I can’t remember a thing about it. It might have been part of the dream in which I was in the garden at the House I Grew Up In and squashes and eggplants were growing on trees.
Culinary Boy got up at 3 this morning to get ready to go to South By-God Kakalak (or, as my neighbor’s friend kept saying yesterday, “Sou Car’lina.”) I drove him two blocks to the restaurant parking lot where he caught his ride at 4:30. I’m going to miss him for the next couple of weeks :(, even though he got on my last raw bleeding nerve yesterday. Ah, relationships.
Katy Cat is confused. One of Her People had A SUITCASE this morning. When I came home and went back to bed, she was crouched outside my door with a worried look on her face. I have a feeling Computer Boy is going to have a furry little shadow for the rest of the day. Katy doesn’t like one of Her Boys not being around.
I didn’t see this yesterday, but you have my sympathy on the prednisone. I was on that stuff back when I was first diagnosed with ITP. Hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it.
That looks like a beautiful spot, **saje. ** I wouldn’t want to leave it either.
I’ve already got the eggs boiled and the potatoes are boiling so I can make tater salad later today. I’ve got to run the vacuum and wash the floor and then I’m done.
I’m not sure when my daughter and the rest of her entourage are showing up today. Hopefully, not too early.
Cabinets, etc, are sold! YAY! They’re coming back to get them on Weds evening.
I’ve been digging thru 2 old computers looking for stuff worth saving before I give the machines away. Unfortunately, one of them doesn’t have a connector for a CRT monitor, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do. grrrrr
I’ve done some laundry and tidied the kitchen a bit, plus sorted a bit more stuff from the basement. I found a box of CDs - I’d forgotten we had them! I need to start loading the trash into the truck. And other stuff into my car so I can give it away at work. It’s amazing the stuff I’ve toted around for years for no apparent reason…
This is the least favorite holiday for my cats. The windows will be closed, blinds drawn and the a/c on all day to keep the noise down inside. I promise I’ll find some poo on the floor somewhere later…
