Hi everybody! Very nice OP li-li and congratulations on being welcomed into the fold. While not a Catholic I was raised in a lapsed Catholic family, and went to Mass often as a child/teen with my aunt and uncle. May you and your husband find comfort and happiness in the church and with your fellow parishioners.
I’m not gonna whine, but my absence has been health related. I have been sneaking peeks into the MMP and trying to keep up with everything, but, well, there you go. Geezo peezo, by the time I turned the computer on this morning you guys were already on page two! It’s like I’m a trundle bug on a track with thoroughbreds…I am eating dust, lol!
It’s 9:30 pm here and the sky is beginning to darken. We may not have Spring yet, but we do have a lot of daylight already
. Breakup has begun, the snow is melting off and causing some minor flooding, in fact I was without phone service for over an hour today while the road crew was clearing a plugged up ditch and did something wrong. (So I feel for you, swampy. I kept picking up the phone, no dial tone, and putting it down all frustrated. Finally I went through my computer and cleaned up a bunch of files, and when I was done, the phone was back on. I suppose that makes it a good thing, in a round about way. Actually, I have spotted my first sign of Spring, and it is! here it is! My rhubarb has made it through another winter, and if the strawberries did as well, I shall be making fresh strawberry rhubarb pie later this summer. Someone, brainpasture I believe, was talking about making one, and now I need one!
Our Easter was very laid back, for the first time in memory I did not color eggs or make baskets, hallelujah! The kids were happy, with each getting a big bowl of candy, and I made up everything on Saturday so all I had to do Sunday was put the ham in to heat, and then two casseroles and we were set. We have enough food for the week as well, not counting the pea soup I will be making with the ham bone, yipee! I am not up to thinking out food for everyone this week, and I don’t even have to tell the kids to forage for themselves. There is an upside to being very close to having an empty nest. We invited Brad for the day, and he showed up with this lovely surprise! (Notice the ivy patterned Corelle!) a man who can bake a cheesecake and whip up a black cherry sauce to pour over it is a good man to invite for supper! It was the very definition of nummy!
Oh, and the wolf incident was in Juneau, and there was a pom involved. “Romeo released the dogs unharmed. But last week, Romeo snatched a small Pomeranian and didn’t let go. The pooch’s body has yet to be found.” Here is the rest of the story.
I need to get my behind in bed, Happy Tuesday everyone, I’ll try to get back sometime soon. Meanwhile, I’ll be watching you…
