I worked with a lady that smoked 6 packs of cigarettes a day. She died shortly after I left the company, I think she was like 45 years old. She was the head of the software department. Whenever she gave you a project to do, she gave you a location to deposit your final product for her approval. She would sometimes go in and modify your program after you had given it to her. The the next day when they installed “your” new software and it didn’t work she would come over and scream (and I mean literally scream) at you about not being careful with your work. Nine times out of ten it was HER modifications that caused the problems.

Former coworker (I’ve since relocated) - she was nosy to an extreme. She’d actually lean to listen in on conversations. She’d comment to me about my phone calls as soon as I’d hang up the phone. She’d go on and on about her kid and her husband as if no one else had ever been married or birthed a child. She had an annoying laugh and she used it constantly, whether a situation was humorous or not.
She got an inter-deparement transfer, and shortly thereafter, I moved 700 miles away. Ah, bliss…
There is a guy in our office that eats ALL THE TIME. My cube also serves as a long counter. This is where I place goodies that people bring in. Everytime there is any food her this guy sniffs it out. He will stand and complain about the food then eat it. Then he will return 5-6-7 times to get more. Some people don’t even get “firsts” and he is on his 7th return to the counter…complaining about the food the whole time.
My previous job was a doozy with lots of pain in the ass co-workers. Non-profits are cesspools of egos and poor management.
I had two bosses. One was a frigid misogynist. Who always got unfortunate haircuts/dye-jobs. It turned out she had taken a class from my father decades ago. I thought that would work in my favor. Lord, I was wrong. She would have these diva tantrums and expect me to fix everything yet meanwhile I had real work piling up on my desk. Around Xmas, I found out that my aunt had been a bridesmaid in her first wedding. When my boss found this out, she was at lunch with half the staff and proceeded to tell everyone that my aunt is a ditz. That really fried my bacon. No one insults my family!
My second boss really was a complete ditz. Absent-minded, completely clueless about the company and not a management bone in her body. The only thing she had going for her was a grasp on accounting and finances. She liked me and wanted to be friends. So I was her friend. Now I can finally admit her mis-management and denial of reality made and still makes that company a horrifying place to be.
Then there was the co-worker who found out that I have visited Germany several times and insisted speaking German to me even though I told him ten million times that I DON’T SPEAK GERMAN! You’d think the deer-in-headlights look would tip him off…
The rich wife co-workers were the absolute worst. Always late, totally dis-organized, two hour lunches, and pass the buck bitches.
I was xeroxing some tax documentation and spied a bunch of co-worker’s salaries. So, I jotted it down on a post-it and passed it around my fellow sane co-workers. In a month four of us quit. The Ice Queen made four times my salary and the drunken rich bitch who barely showed up made even more.
My ex boss used to threaten people with death, thanks to his two friends, Guido and Dutch, who were in the mafia, supposedly. He had a Deep Dark Past, including a career as a police officer. He was also the grandson of an English Earl, and heir to the title. He’d scream and yell and throw things, but the worst part was keeping a straigt face when he tried to say this stuff. He was fiftysomething, never made it management, and compensated for being a fifty-year-old security guard by being telling stories all the time. When that threatened to stop working, he started firing people and hiring ass kissers.
