I’m trying to restore a Bakelite item that’s got engraved wording and such that’s worn off over the years.
The thingus is black, and the ledgends are white. What I need is a paint that will stick to the Bakelite inside the engraving and be handle-able, washable and generally permanent. It doesn’t need extreme heat resistance and won’t be living in constant wetness either.
Would regular enamel work, or would I be better off with something like a two-part epoxy paint? Either case, I’d anticipate wiping it on to fill the engraving and scrape it off flush to the surface and then probably buff off any remaining on the surface.
Anyone here have experience in such things, and am I on the right track?
