Vladimir Putin revels in his tough-guy image. Palin is equally non-PC. So, put them at opposite ends of a forest: which one would come out alive?

Putin just shot a Siberian Tiger (with a tranq gun)! So at the moment, I’m gonna vote for him on this one.
I vote for Putin. I’m afraid he’ll spike my tea with something exotically unpleasant if I don’t.
Let’s see…the former mayor of a small town put against the former head of the KGB…who’s going to win?
I bet on Palin dying of a sudden heart attack/in a plane crash/whatever before being in view of the forest.
I’m thinking old Vlad kills her with his mind in about three seconds.
Palin would put him in the comfy chair.
Nitpick: Putin was in the KGB, but not the head of the KGB. Still, my money’s on him.
But we’re not talking about competing within the venue of civilization and government. How about this: A moose-hunting, fishing survivalist against a professional bureaucrat, out in the wild - now who’s going to win?
Putin STILL shot a Siberian Tiger (see my previous post)! That totally tops a few moose (one moose, many moose?).
And he’s really into keeping himself fit, practices judo and swims daily.
My money’s still on him.
Palin would lay claim to being in charge of all the animals in her forrest without rhyme nor reason as to why that is and without ever having given them a command.
She’d wait until well after Putin killed something to eat and the stronger animals had turned on him to claim she gave the order and pad it on her resume as significant leadership experiance.
Putin finally dies after taking 4/5 of the animals with him, but under her leadership/abandonment, all the animals left alive re-populate like rabbits.
It might if he hunted it in the wild. But seeing as it was in a zoo, I don’t see much to brag about there.
Quartz, what are the respective contestants equipped with? Guns? Knives? Whatever they can find? Do they know in advance that they are contending, or is this sprung on them at the last minute?

Putin doesn’t just have a tough guy image, he is a tough guy. He’s former KGB and is a 6th dan red/white belt in Judo with 40+ years experience training and competing. Unless she was armed, he’d throw her flat on her ass and choke the life out of her, then make it look like she “fell out of a tree.”
Give them a long gun, a side arm, a decent amount of ammo, and a hunting knife.
But really, many of the responses so far have bought a big smile to my face - very good after a day’s work.
OK, assuming Palin doesn’t have to bring her family along, I’m thinking that her youth, marksmanship, and general survivor skills make her the likelier of the two to come out of the forest alive. She’s hunted a lot; she knows how to wait silently in a blind.
If it comes down to hand to hand or a knife fight, the fact that Putin is male and automatically has the built-in upper body strength advantage that a y-choromosome gives might give him an advantage. I don’t know enough about their respective physical conditions to judge. But she has been very physically active and I think I read that she works out. Putin has spent most of his career as a bureaucrat, hasn’t he? So there’s still a good chance that Palin might take him.
Putin looks like a man who could punch a train unconscious, just for fun. Palin looks like a woman who…came second in a beauty contest 20 years ago. Shootin’ Putin wins in about 3 seconds.
With a long gun it’s anybody’s guess. There are plenty of photo ops of each of them hunting and fishing, but nobody knows how much actual rifle and outdoorsmanship experience either of them has had in comparison with the other and how much of it is propaganda. With a knife Palin has at least as much chance as anyone with a knife has; you don’t so much “win” a knife fight as you “get stabbed less,” i.e. go to the hospital instead of the morgue. Putin still has a size and reach advantage, but it’s possible she might hit a home run and catch him in the carotid or femoral artery.
Weaponless hand to hand combat, though, no way. No offense to Governor Palin, but not many people are in Putin’s league in that department, and she’s not one of them. She’d have as much chance against him unarmed as I’d have in chess against a grandmaster, which is none at all.
Let’s keep in mind that there’s one US official who’s enough of a badass to have once shot an old man in the face. If Putin got past Palin, he’d still have the boss monster waiting for him.
