My guess is that the separation is true, and possibly the infidelities, but now she’ll hold off on filing the papers just so she can say the “media” was lying. On the plus side, that means she now has to share the book money. We’ll see. I bet they’ll keep living apart, anyway. *I wonder who’s the father of that baby. I bet it’s Levy.
*This bit is just intended as a little mean spirited satire. Spare me your indignation.
What’s up with the whore and filthy little slut remarks, Dio? It’s starting to creep me out. Are you oversharing your spank bank fantasies, or do you call all politicians you dislike dirty whores?
Okay- I must have never noticed it. But I’m not going to let little Karen sit next to you at the family reunions from now on, just in case. I’m watching you.
No, any man that goes around calling women that clearly are not professional prostitutes “whore” probably has issues, perhaps with misogynism. Plus, it was a joke. Get over yourself.
Eh? You think people here are getting away with changing their story because the original posts… vanished? That’s a pretty bold claim to make in a written, searchable, datestamped forum.
Whore is not equal to prostitute anymore Alice. Whore is almost synonmyous with slut, only whores are dirtier.
And anyone who cheats on their spouse is either a whore or slut, hard to tell which these days. So if Palin is proven to have cheated, she is indeed a dirty slut. Or whore, whatever.
I thought the difference was in which one you could lead to culture…
My vote:
Like some have suggested upthread, the fake story was prompted/hinted/suggested/just-short-of-planted by the Palin camp. It’s real close on the heals of the “quit makin’ stuff up” sound bite, and feeds into it very well. Never mind that it was a few bloggers who put it out there, none of her base is going to make the distinction (especially as more reputable outlets covered the denial). And look at how this (relatively!) tame board is all atwitter and ready to poke fun. Even with tongues firmly planted in cheeks, looking back it is yet another Palin rumor bandwagon that was fun to ride for a while. (Note: I’m certainly not chastising anyone or whatnot, just pointing out the merrymaking.)
Fox News and AM radio have built a huge business–a veritable empire–out of pitting themselves as the real, or unbiased, or factual news outlet (add adjectives as you will). This just feeds into that myth–look at the new horrible thing the Gotcha Ya media is saying this week.
