I have the Solo laptop identifing the Palm m500 on the IR port, cleverly disguised as com 4, but the palm ain’t talkin’. What goes on?

Right-click Hotsync manager (in your system tray) and check that InfraRed is ticked.

In the Hotsync app on your palm, does it say ‘IR to PC/Handheld’ below the large hotsync graphic button?

  • if not, see if it’s available from the drop-down
  • if not, you’ll have to go to Connections in the Prefs app and create a new IR to PC/Handheld connection.

Are there any other apps using the IR port on your PC (like a Mobile phone manager)?
