I put this on the general questions board, and everybody ignored me!
I had a legitamate question and I really wanted to know…
Nobody can tell me why women’s pants are so HIGH-waisted!
I can’t freakin’ stand it when my pants go all the way up to my chest!
Whoever thought that this would be fashionable?
It doesn’t make any sense!
Every time a guy has asked me this, I have not been able to give an answer…
Well, we certainly don’t want to make you feel ignored. I’m not sure I can help you, though. I don’t have this particular problem. Are you talking about all pants, or just a particular style that’s current?
If it’s all pants, I would say that you are another victim of the clothing industry’s decision that all women have the same body type. My particular cross to bear is that shirt and dress maker’s have decreed that no woman is to have a breast size larger than a B cup. If a shirt fits me through the back and arms, it won’t close all the way in front.
You do have options now, thank goodness. And it’s all due to the 70s comeback thing. I purchased a pair of Lee jeans that are low rise and boot cut. Most of the low riders do come in flare leg or boot cut but they look nice with those big chunky shoes that just won’t seem to go away either. I’ll tell you something else about these jeans, they make your butt look better too. While mine is not completely flat I by no means have a big old onion, but these low riders seem to round out your hinny a lot better too. I have long lamented the high rise, relaxed fit jean. They simply cut off my oxygen and make me look heavier. I used to look high and low for slim fit jeans, they at least didn’t make your thighs look three sizes bigger. I’ve also seen these low rise pants now in twills and stretch materials.
