The school board has decided
what to do with the San Diego-area Vice-Principal who got in trouble for making students lift their skirts to check for appropriate underwear at a dance.
Back to the classroom, apparently because she is tenured… I suppose the next episode will be parents demanding that her reassignment be to some other school, so she won’t be in contact with the same kids.
And this is better, how? If anything, it’s worse! I think that less contact rather than more contact with students is what is called for!
Not to mention, how would you like to be a kid in this woman’s classroom. Every time I see a story about her, she goes on about her ruined career. She was “very disappointed and deeply saddened” about the ruling. It seems like she has no concept of why she has been so villified. She has got to be bitter about the whole thing. Do you think she isn’t going to vent that out on the kids?
And what is it with Tenure anyway? Why does this tenure make someone unfireable? After such a poor display of judgement, and total disregard for the kids as people, I can not see why she should be allowed to hold any position of authority over these kids, even as teacher.
If they can’t fire her, then she should be in some administrative job, like attendance file clerk or something, where she isn’t directly responsible for children.
Were I a kid in her class, I would wear long johns as underwear every day, just in case she was struck with the urge to “protect the kids” again.
