OK, I asked this question in a Pit thread but it’s probably more suited to IMHO.
What do y’all think of the new, suddenly popular “boy-cut” panties? (example) I think they’re about the unsexiest things ever and unflattering to most women. But my sense of what is sexy was set in the eighties when high cut was in and boy leg panties were for aging hippie women so I’m worried I’m just not moving with the times.
So what do y’all think? Guys, what’s your favorite style of panty on a gal? (it’s not that I only wear what guys like but I do like to think if I met James Spader one random day and he was consumed with lust for me, I’d have on appropriate underthings. Does that make me a bad feminist?)
Uggg. I hate 'em: they make my legs look even shorter than they already are, and the ones I 've tried haven’t fit right. Kept wanting to pull them up, twitch them around, and otherwise adjust them in some way.
I much prefer a bikini-style: high cut leg, low waist.
I don’t like the cut on the thighs, either. I like low cut panties, but with a higher cut on the legs. I guess a triangle with some string is more my thing, heh. I hear people talk about how uncomfortable g-strings/thongs are (butt floss), but after wearing them so long, I feel like very much material, and I’m wearing granny bloomers. I’ll also add, regardless of weight, I don’t think those panties look particulary sexy on very many people, including the model. Not a critical eye on her body, nothing wrong with her, just the style itself. YMMV
bikini cut is MUCH better than the boy cut, which I think doesn’t look right at all. Beyond that, doesn’t much matter, though I am fond of the translucent when wet variety.
I personally think that boy-cut underwear (UGH, I hate the word “panties”) can look hot on the right woman. I am not an example of that right woman. You can’t really have an ass to wear them, or short legs (and as I have an ass and short legs, well…).
I personally like low-rise bikinis and low-rise string bikinis. I don’t like thongs but g-strings (basically thongs but with a small ‘string’ of fabric instead) are semi-tolerable. I never understood the argument that thongs are more comfortable because if you’re going to get fabric wedged there anyway, you might as well have just a small strip. Personally, I think that if you continually get wedgies, you’re just not getting the right size/cut. I’ve never ever had anything close to a wedgie since I started buying my own underwear.
That said, I kinda like the look and feel of low-cut briefs; it’s the overall look of the boy-cut but they don’t come down so low on your thighs (they have actual holes instead of a shorts-style cut), and for some reason, they seem to make room for my ass, unlike boy-cut underwear.
As the owner of various pairs of boycut underwear, I personally like them. Ive found, though, you have to find the right cut for you. I probably have five different styles, and out of those, there are only really two of them I like. The trick is finding ones that have enough fabric to cover, but not enough to actually have shorts, or the fabric rolls up under your pants. I also don’t have to worry about anyone seeing them, so if my butt is too big, or legs too short, then it doesn;t matter as much.
Plain cotton. Pink, white, grey, that matters not. What does count, though, is the presence of the little bow near the elastic band in the front. It’s cute, like the panties are giftwrap.
First, it’s “panties”, not underwear, for women. Men wear underwear.
Secondly, I just got back from seeing my 5’8" blond Russian girlfriend and brought her a mix of the french cut panties (rides up high in the rear with derriere hanging out and in the front too) and thongs. Course she has the legs and ass to make a pair of mens Fruit of the Loom, full cut, white underwear look good.
Secondly, there’s something sexy about some thin (empasis on thin), cotton, white panties that is a turn on that I just can’t explain.
Third. I don’t like panties that pull up almost over the bellybutton. They need to ride low.
Fourth. An absolute turnoff is loose or baggy panties. uggh!!!
Fifth. Sheer, slightly see-through, tight fitting panties are also a turn-on.
Sixth: Cotton thongs with prints of little flowers, fruits, or other frilly girl things on them is sexy.
I just seem to have bad luck with all the new styles of panties. The boy cut ones roll up my butt, so I have SUPER-Duper pantie lines.
The thongs all seem to have this very loooong crotch. So for them to fit correctly, you have to pull the sides up over your hipbones. Not the way I envision them fitting. I considered tying a knot in the excess, but either it would look like a tail in the back of my pants, or it would be really uncomfortable to sit down.
Regular bikini’s seem to fit best, with the matching bra, of course.
Completely agree. They shorten the legs and provide no control in the belly area.
Besides. While they make sense under low-cut jeans (not pants, because panty-lines will be visible), most women (I’m not talking pre-teen girls here, people) have:
a) belly
b) pubic hair.
I feel like the designers of these underpants don’t feel like a woman should have either. They frequently assume that women are supposed to look like 14-year-old boys.
I still love a girl in a thong, but these boyshort thingies are kinda growing on me. Not a chance they’ll displace the almighty thong, or better yet, g-string, though.
