They might have something on tape. Maybe he peeped on underage girls at Miss Universe in Russia, and they have that on video, as an example. Maybe they have something he did in his hotel room on video.
If you’re a star you don’t have to peep, you can just walk in-- they let you do it!
Someone referred to “turtles all the way down” so the “him” in my post was Sen. McConnell, a.k.a. The Turtle. Although “what kompromat could possibly be worse than what is already publicly known?” applies to him as well as it does to Trump.
Ah yes, the legendary McConnell tutu-tape
Aspenglow, I myself have absolutely no idea who might be at risk, based on the CNN link. So I would just say, it could be someone we all know and disrespect, or someone that most and maybe all of us have never even heard of, who is under investigation.
But when it comes to Barr, I’ve long thought that he was thrilled to be appointed AG, and was willing to do a lot of things to help Trump, because obviously when and if Trump goes, so does he. Now that Trump is going, I would not be surprised in the least if Barr is 100% the instigator and supporter of whatever investigations, however vague the details are at this time, are underway. This does not make him respectable all of a sudden, but it would speak to his sense of self-preservation. Maybe he wants to save whatever was left of his reputation.
Otherwise, I have no predictions here, but I personally don’t see a long list of indictments. I certainly don’t expect to see any Trump family members involved, and really have no idea who would be on your list. Can you elaborate?
I don’t want to think about what act could be so horrible that it would Donald Trump feel shame.
I’ve long thought the only thing that would cause Trump’s supporters to abandon him would be if he supported some kind of liberal policy. Maybe he’s on tape somewhere bashing a conservative cause?
Mexican Pesos.
There are recent foreign policy examples…
Less recent are statements like ‘I am Very Pro-Choice.
Well, let’s start with Barr’s reputation. There’s nothing left to save. He is so bad, thousands of DOJ staff have, at various times, signed letters of protest against his actions. US attorneys have resigned their positions in protest.
This is not normal. Barr’s DOJ is outraged by him.
So Bill Barr may need a pardon himself. Whereas there was a time when he was wily enough to avoid prosecution, he appears to have slipped into Crazytown and abused his oath repeatedly. Did Bill Barr obstruct US attorneys from pursuing their lawful work? Pretty sure he killed a lot of investigations. That’s obstruction of justice. Example: He was within his rights to fire Geoffrey Berman as SDNY US Attorney, but not if it was for a corrupt purpose to stifle an active, lawful investigation. I’m sure the ghost of John Mitchell looms large in his night sweats. At the least, he wants to try and preserve his license(s) to practice law. I think these are the only reasons for Barr’s recent behavior modifications.
Paul Manafort, currently doing time for lying to the FBI to protect Trump. Pardon for sure.
Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump. Ivanka has been and Melania shortly will be deposed for their roles in alleged misuse of inauguration funds. Trump’s buddy Tom Barrack is up to his neck in this one, too. Campaign finance crimes abound with this crowd. While this prosecution is being handled by the Superior Court of Washington DC and is out of reach of a pardon, Trump can at least foreclose any federal crimes arising out of this conduct for his family members.
Don Jr. was referred to the DOJ for prosecution for lying to Congress under oath. Yes, it’s an actual crime. Barr may not have been willing to prosecute, but a new Biden AG might. Also criminal tax fraud and money laundering.
I guess Eric is in line for a pardon, too. His crimes likely revolve around the aforementioned tax fraud and money laundering.
Rudy Giuliani. The Ukraine. There ya go.
Stephen Miller. Crimes against humanity, torture and who knows what else. Guaranteed this guy is going to get a pardon.
Pat Cippolone, now counsel to the office of the president. If he had any part in delivering proposed pardon-for-bribery information to Trump, then he will need a pardon.
KellyAnne Conway and Kayleigh McEnany. Both have continuously violated the Hatch Act during their time as Trump surrogates/press secretaries. These are different jobs and in normal times they are not allowed to be blurred into one job.
Louis DeJoy. Need I say more? Tampering with the US Mail is a serious criminal offense.
Mike Pompeo. Mr. Pompeo likes using OPM (Other People’s Money, meaning yours and mine) to finance his own political ambitions with his lavish “Madison Dinners.” That may well constitute a campaign violation crime. He did it many times. He also used government employees to pick up his dry cleaning, walk his dog and perform other menial tasks for his wife and him. Illegal.
Mike Pence. Probably lied about what he knew re Mike Flynn’s meeting with the Russians. He claims to have first heard of the lie in March and that is the accepted CW, but come on. He was the chairman of Trump’s transition team and was in the meeting where it was decided what the public would be told. I don’t believe him. And let’s not forget his role in the Giuliani/Lev Parnas/Igor Fruman Ukraine debacle that led to Trump’s impeachment.
It’s kind of a cute scenario, though, isn’t it? Trump pardons Pence, then Pence pardons Trump.
Steve Mnuchin,Treasury Secretary. He has demonstrated his comfort with taking advantage of the Little People in his prior aggressive foreclosure actions. Think he didn’t use his position as Treasury Secretary for financial gain? Me, either. He was advised today in a congressional hearing that his decision to end federal reserve emergency lending programs before 2026 is illegal. Will need a pardon.
Devin Nunes. Remember him? Delivered fake information to Trump at the White House so Trump could claim election interference in an effort to claim President Obama was spying on Trump? He was the House Committee on Intelligence Chairman, for god’s sake. He was made to step aside from the position (sorta), but there is surely a criminal act there. At least one.
Brad Parscale. He appears to have liaised with Julian Assange and Roger Stone to funnel Russian information to the Trump campaign in their efforts to swing the 2016 election. He then refused to turn over the documents in response to a lawful Congressional subpoena. Illegal.
This is just off the top of my head and there are many, many more. Trump is a crime machine. Virtually everyone who has worked with him has committed a crime or five on his behalf. This is why I believe there are going to be lots and lots of pardons.
The Superior Court of DC is a federal court, and the possible offences would be under federal law, since Congress has exclusive jurisdiction over DC, so the alleged offences. wouldn’t be out of reach of the presidential pardon power.
Thank you. I get mixed up with federal courts, especially in and around Washington DC. I know my way around state courts in general and in California specifically, but the federal system is a whole different animal.
I think a lot of Trump’s supporters only have a vague idea of what a liberal policy or a conservative cause is. If Trump announces that he’s putting a tariff on foreign goods, do you think the average Trump voter could explain the ideological context of that? I’ve heard people saying that they support Trump because he appoints conservative judges. But ask them to explain what a conservative judicial policy is like and they have no idea.
These people are followers. Trump could do pretty much anything, tell them it was good, and they would all nod their heads in agreement.
The Irony is that they call us “sheeple”.
That one is payment for The Wall™, as promised. It’s true that virtually no new wall has actually been built, but the envelope, accordingly, contains only six pesos. Which is still probably more than the orange shit-gibbon’s net worth.

I’ve heard people saying that they support Trump because he appoints conservative judges. But ask them to explain what a conservative judicial policy is like and they have no idea.
Anti-abortion, weaken if not overturn Roe v. Wade.
Some vague notion of interpreting the law as written, not trying to apply the intent of the law in light of changed moral understanding, i.e. extending equal protection to sexual orientation and gender identity. The mantra of “Interpret the law, not make it”.
Quit supporting “that evil atheist agenda to remove Christianity from the public sphere”, e.g. the War on Christmas. Defend Christianity as a privileged position in society.
In other words, they will know about social aspects of legal topics. Fiscal policy, though, you are correct.
Trump is so innately corrupt that none of this registers as bad to him. “What’s wrong for paying for services? What’s wrong with getting paid to do things? That’s capitalism!” “Spending other people’s money is just smart.” To take a page out of another crazy’s handbook, “It’s called Winning.” Thus his pretty much guaranteed hand out of Pardons like beads at Mardi Gras.
Trump is so bad, he makes Tricky Dick look like Honest Abe. And Trump supporters ignore it, don’t believe it, or just don’t care. Or all three at once.
They will be forced to round up the usual suspects. I wonder who the poor suckers will be.

At the least, he wants to try and preserve his license(s) to practice law.
You mean Bill Barr coud be disbarred? What would be left of him then? Just a Bill? I wonder what that Bill would be called. I hope the acronym sounds obscene and belittling.

Trump is a crime machine. Virtually everyone who has worked with him has committed a crime or five on his behalf. This is why I believe there are going to be lots and lots of pardons.
I fully agree, but the question here is which of those pardons will be obtained through bribery. Of course, if bribery does not just involve paying money, but giving or doing something the Bribee Nr. 1 likes a lot (like commiting crimes, being despicable to people he does not like, humiliating decent behaviour and the such)… but that widens the scope of this OP too much IMO. I think we are talking about money for pardons, not just pardons that are indecent but illegal.
The thread was started about a bribery for pardon scheme. That is what I was referring to when I said I don’t see a long list of indictments. Surely though there are people in the Trump administration that may be indicted for crimes while in office, and you provide a good list. It’s not clear to me if you think any of them are in on the bribery scheme however, except maybe Cippolone where you mention it specifically. I would would not put it past some of the people on the list.
