Parental nightmare YouTuber Andrew Tate busted - and you won't believe by whom!

Moving right along…

I hope he gets life.

Let me go get my sad trombone.

Don’t you think 5000 years is a bit harsh?

Nope.

I think 5000 years would be a bit harsh for the people who have to guard, supervise, feed, and otherwise associate with the loser.

For the loser himself, naah. The fundamentalist Christian vision of a literal eternity of deathless unending torment seems closer to appropriate.

A pretty disgusting report from the BBC yesterday on discussions of grooming and abuse of women in Tate’s “War Room” chat group.

I am not а person inclined toward violence, but, if even a fraction of that story is accurate, Tate and his buddies are in serious need of a good and proper curb-stomping.

UPDATE: Tate has been arrested again after he boasted to one of his fellow “alphas” that he was getting ready to flee Romania and said “alpha” read those DMs on a livestream.

That must somehow fit into the timeline of this BBC news story posted earlier today.

…They have been released from custody.

Speaking outside court Andrew Tate said: “We are very innocent men and in time everybody is going to see that. We are excited to finish this judicial process and clear our names.”

To me it reads as if they had only just been bailed (or similar) when Tate ran his mouth off and…back you come.

ETA - I guess the material in the BBC story may also be covered by the Rolling Stone article, which was paywalled for me.

ETA2 - No, I’ll correct myself - Tate DM’d someone, who then blabbed.

Paywalled for me, too. I found the NPR story here:

So it sounds like they’ve been released and could just try to abscond if they want to? The time stamp on that story seems to be within the last two hours.

There are definitely mixed messages out there.

If he is planning on fleeing he doesn’t have many options - according to a quick Google, the only countries that don’t have extradition treaties with the UK are North Korea, Somalia, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, Algeria, Libya, and Iraq, and none of them are particularly amenable to his lifestyle.

I only know of this guy from here and random general Internet comments (like on YouTube or Reddit or whatever). I just don’t understand why the fuck anyone would care what this guy thinks, but that’s the state of the world today, I guess. I was the same way with Paris Hilton (though, I think I actually like her.) I’ll have to do a dive one day and figure out why he’s so influential, apparently.

The problem with him is that he is allegedly teaching millions of young boys (his followers) to be sexual predators.

He’s appealing to 14-year-old boys who think adulthood is like that, until they turn 15. He is NOT a role model, good, bad, or otherwise.

Unfortunately, there are way, way too many men in the world who never mature past the 14 year old mental state.

That and all the crime-ing.

I understand what he’s doing — it’s more like where in the heck did he come from all of a sudden? (I expect it’s born”all of a sudden” and I’m simply not plugged into this demographic.) like I said, I can gather a sense of him from the comments I’ve read that invoke him: he”s some sort of “alpha//sigma male” toxic masculinity promoting douchebag. He just seemed to appear out of nowhere to me.

In other words, he was a raging self-promoter who was quite famous and quite successful in his niche until one day a headline about that penetrated your relatively different and frankly anti-celebrity insular world.

Which is exactly how I too found out about him. I’d never heard the name until reading here that he’d been arrested.

But once I first heard about him, the fact his story is the sort of train wreck both media and the general public loves to yabber about is unsurprising. And unlike some folks that become infamous then slink out of sight in prison, this guy keeps finding ways to re-aim the spotlight back at himself.

Nothing surprising at all. Disgusting maybe, but humanity is like that. In large crowds they stink too. News at 11.
