I’m a little skeptical of the Daily Mail, but it’s being picked up by the Guardian so maybe there’s a shred of credibility to it. Weiner is reported to have had highly illegal online communication with a teenager. Thank Christ this is coming out after Huma Abedin already separated from him.
Saw this. Uggh. Sad to see the incredible self-destruction and self-delusion of an otherwise intelligent person, and sadder to see the possibility that he may have hurt people beyond just his family.

I feel sorry for the guy. I mean, who would ever have thought something like would become public? I thought all emails and text messages were securely kept out of the hands of the media. This new revelation that they are not is very disturbing, and could foreshadow the downfall of other politicians!!

It sucks because I actually think that his passion (as a Congressman) was uniquely genuine.
I think it’s pretty clear now that his *actual * passion is about being in the public gaze.
I don’t disagree, but I don’t think that this is mutually exclusive to actually wanting to change the country for the better, which I feel like, as a Congressman, he did. That doesn’t change the fact that he turned out to be a total creep, just makes it a lot more disappointing.
