Parents, please teach your children not to do this...

That would be BAD! Two wrongs do NOT make a right!

and get arrested for threatening someone with a gun.

I dunno if it’d be all that effective nowadays. Of course, not all kids are disrespectful of adults, but it does seem that more are now than were back in the day. So even if one were to stop the car, the kids would most likely run off. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I could catch 'em.

And then if I did catch them and was able to give them a stern talking to, what are the chances that they’d actually listen? That they’d stand there and listen?

I realize these are young kids, not teens, though. So maybe talking to them, extolling the virtues of crossing when no cars are coming, would have been helpful. But I bet they knew that already and would do no more than roll their eyes at this ever-helpful adult trying to lambaste them for their actions.

I have to admit that in high school my friends and I did the video camera thing. However, it was us walking around town, being goofy, making stupid Star Trek and Monty Python jokes, wrestling in snow piles, and occasionally blowing up Star Wars models out in the woods. We never did anything more dangerous than that, nor did we involve anyone beyond people we knew.

Doing things to actually scare the bejeezus out of innocent people and/or endanger ourselves never crossed our minds.

We just wanted to have fun. Too many kids don’t think of others when they do stupid things.
