Parents, think before you name your kid after a porn star!

Mine smoked Winstons.

OTOH, I have brothers named Tom and Harry. I was supposed to be a boy named Richard. So my Mom could call us Tom, Dick and Harry. I am so glad I am not a Dick;)!!

“Oh yeah, I recognize those breasts!”

Been there! I was the first of my family to spawn. My best advice for my sibs was, “Don’t tell Mom what names you are thinking of.”

Actually, this seems pretty clever. I can’t see many reasons to want to be google-able, and lots of reasons to want to not be, so having a name that’s really hard to google seems like an advantage rather than a downside.

To play Devil’s Advocate here: Perhaps the young lass’ parents both like the name Jenna and feel it unfortunate that the name was hijacked by a porn star. So they said “Fuck it, we’re not going to let Jenna Marie Massoli* steal the beauty and meaning of our daughter’s name. Jenna Jameson it is.”

It’s courageous of them. It will, regretfully, cause her daughter grief, but it was their choice and they owned it.

*That’s her real name.

Thank you! I was thinking “Gee, he just keeps getting in trouble!” when I heard his name.

My parents had the same middle name. It was destined to be mine as well. I have never met a single male with my middle name, and although they definitely exist (there’s a few athletes in particular), if there were any my age I would be extremely shocked. I’m definitely not planning on ever going by my middle name, although my mother has certainly teased me about the possibility whenever she sees someone else doing it.

Because I once received a call for someone with the exact same first and last name as mine, though, (and my last name is pretty rare) I do tend to use my middle name or at least middle initial practically everywhere I can. It’s part of my Facebook name, and when I sign on to other sites with Facebook, sometimes the site thinks it’s my first surname and not my middle name. (That site is probably just poorly programmed though)

IKR?
