I would have written: “Need answer fast”, but I was too busy getting my baby’s socks back on. Again.
And how come those footsie pants only exist for newborn baby’s?

Our solution was to let the little heathens go barefoot indoors. They both survived.
When we left the house, we put on tights (in suitable masculine colors, of course). You can’t kick off tights.
Of course, they are now almost 15 and 9, and they still insist on going barefoot at home…
We’ve got a few foot-included clothes all the way up to size 1 - but it’s all handmedown loot so I don’t know where it’s from originally.
Our kids went barefoot a lot too. Also - footbags (I don’t know what they’re called officially, that’s my made up name). Formless half-slipper-half-bag contraptions with elasticated ankles. I’ll see if I can find a pic online…
Staples?
If you note the impish grins you’ll realize it is their first stab at self determination.
Try not to stifle it. Besides, it’s much easier playing “this little piggy” when you can grab individual toes.
Shoes. They have them at the Zeeman with soft bottoms and velcro or even laces.
Though I have an entire box of blanket sleepers with feet from about 9 months up to about 5 years (since your child is Dutch, I amend: from about birth to about two years) to which you are welcome if you are ever in the area. (Photo included because as far as I can tell they don’t have 'em here).
But reply fast as they are going to the kringloop as soon as I can get Dearly Beloved to take them. Er, take that back, take your time, I have been saying that since…um, youngest turns 7 this week.
All I could ever figure out was either footy clothes, or just put the darned socks back on.
Some socks seem to have more stayability - babyGap seem to be quite good.
Or just laugh and put up with it!
We did barefoot a lot, but for going out, used these toggle slippers (upper right or second down on left). They were brilliant. We kept buying larger sizes even past the point where we should have been embarrassed that the kid was going to daycare in slippers and not shoes.
Soft-soled, elasticized shoes, like Robeez (or a less expensive model from a different maker) work for some people, but they never fit my kids well.
heh… we’re having the same issues with our 8-month old at the moment.
She does mostly barefoot - when we go our she has a sealed cosy-toes on her buggy, so she won’t catch a chill.
The foot-bags are OK, but they make moving around more difficult (they can be kinda clumpy).
Red Swingline.
Bobux shoes besides taking cute to whole new levels seemed to (a) be loved by both our boys to the extent they didn’t want to take them off, and (b) live up to their promise namely that the little muchkins can’t get them off.
Bare little toesies, all the better for nibbling.
Although at bedtime, I’m still a fan of zip-up footed pajamas. Mine would kick off their blankets at night. They sell them all the way to size 6x in this area.
Bigger, Target carries them in my size and I have a set that would fit a large 12 year old in my closet for my daughter (they don’t fit her yet).
My kids lived in footie jammies until the were old enough to need socks/shoes - around eleven months or so.
Marinee, those blanket sleepers of yours would be the PERFECT solution to my socks problem. And not only that; they are also the solution to the changing of a chagrined sleepy baby who hates changing clothes, every time I move him into his chair or stroller, as both require bifurcated, yet WARM trousers. With socks.
You know, I’ve looked at H&M, Wehkamp, HEMA and the like here in the Netherlands, and none of them sell footiepyama’s beyond size 68. I can’t figure out why; as if Dutch baby’s like wearing baby jeans with tight bulky belly bands, and shirts that creep up all the time, when they could wear comfortable clothes like those one-piece suits.
So, as blanket sleepers apparently are unavailable in the Netherlands, I’d have to import them. But if you still have several of those in sizes 74 and up, that would be a real “buitenkansje” for me.
So yes, I would love, love to have your box of footiepyama’s/blanket sleepers. Check your e-mail !
We have the footie pants & body suits for our 18-month-old, and I’ve seen them in even larger sizes. He wears them to bed just about every night in the winter.
ETA: Sorry, I just saw your most recent post. I’d offer up some of our supply, but we already have a new arrival who is going to probably need some of big brother’s clothes.
Best of luck!
So do I, and I’m 63.
It’s not as adorable as those cute little socks, but when we suffered through the winters in Chicago and the kiddo needed to keep his socks on, I just bought socks sized for 1-2 year olds. Sure, they went up to his hips, but they weren’t coming off anytime soon.
I loved those…
Granted I loved those as a child rather than as a parent (not there yet, thank God) but still.
Came in here to recommend them.
