I thought this was an excellent episode - a lot better than last week. Highlights for me:
– The campaign ads from both sides. I actually paused my DVR to read all the issues Leslie supports.
– The litany of Andy’s medical ailments. “…and sometimes? I get hungry.” “Okay, some of those are symptoms, and some of them are just part of being human.”
– Ron cancelling the dam project.
Also, Paul Rudd begging Leslie to drop out of the race!
“Do you think that little girl would do an ad for me?”
“That was ME as a 10-year old!”
“ How did you do that?”
Loved Andy’s ailments.
Loved the campaign ads.
Swanson and Rudd were too one-dimensional. Although, I did love the remote control door closer that’s just a bit too slow.
I love how maligned Jerry is. Poor Jerry.
My favorite part was when Andy was in the doctor and he nonchalantly said “Oh yeah, and I think I broke my thumb coming in here.”
I did like those ads as well. I also liked that in the end, things really looked in Leslie’s favor. It may have been a little too mean to have Paul Rudd just steamroll over her in the campaign, but now she can totally get him with her encyclopedic knowledge of Pawnee’s issues.
Andy’s list of ailments was good and I liked Jerry, Ben and Tom practicing their menacing political ad voices. The subplot with Ron and Chris was lame.
Another weak show, again making the campaign the core of the plot. They’ve got to make the campaign more of a backdrop and center on compelling farcical situations.
Andy and April are gems. I smell a lame spin-off in those characters. I’m surprised by the number of people who dislike April/Aubrey. I love the petulant brat character, and I wish the writers would give her more to do.
You seem to be in the minority. I don’t care if the focus is on the campaign or some other event as long as it’s funny. Last episode wasn’t so much; this one was. And hopefully we get more of Paul Rudd’s spoiled but incredibly stupid character.
My favorite of Paul Rudd’s lines: “I’m here with my Persian greyhound Raclette, who was given to me by my friend, the pretender to the throne of Alsace-Lorraine”.

Although I like the idea of a clueless spoiled man-child running for office against Leslie, Andy’s character already owns the “borderline retarded” spot on the show - adding another one in that category feels a bit redundant. And Paul Rudd’s got nothin’ on Chris Pratt, acting chops-wise.
I really liked the way he kept screwing up Leslie’s name and seemed oblivious to the fact the she was running against her even after she told him a bunch of times.
I think Rudd’s supposed to be playing more “oblivious entitled” than “man-child.” I admit it’s a fine distinction, but Parks is a show about comically-overstated characters. Nuance isn’t really in the cards.
