I remember from my late childhood, seen on HBO between features. Lots of splattered whipped cream, etc. Anyone else out there remember this, and know where to get it?
I remember that! It was called “Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind”. I vaguely remember the pie, but I remember the kid better, and the monkey.
They had one of the stuffed monkeys with cymbals in the show. That’s all I recall of that, but the bit with the kid and the toys acting up at night was a brilliant spoof. You know the part where all the toys start running, and even the vacuum cleaner starts going? Well, in the spoof, it shows the mom run into the room and the kid struggling inside the vacuum cleaner bag as if he had been sucked up by it, and the mom says something like, “How many times have I told you not to play in the vacuum cleaner!”
Hilarious!
Here it is on IMDB: Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind
“They keep saying the same thing over and over!”
I got that on a VHS tape along with “Hardware Wars” and “Porklips Now”. “Bambi vs. Godzilla” was also on it.
“Closet Cases” was good, but “Hardware Wars” was better, and very topical, with it’s evil villain, Darf Nader whose utterings were incomprehensible.
“I was a scientist before I became a bad actor. I know what that number is… It’s Pi!”
Still cracks me up.
How about the Mailbox Barber Quartet?
“Gonna build a mountaaaaain, in your living roooooom!”

“It just keeps saying the same thing!”
