Party V: The Free-For-All.
Hey all. As much as I’d like to say “A wizard is never late…”, the joke doesn’t work as welll when I haven’t shown up until now.
Funny you should mentions wizards being late, I was just talking about how worried the Hobbits were when Gandalf failed to meet them at the Prancing Pony in Bree.

You know, in my travels to the Far Orient, I met an illusionist who had great skill in his craft. Somehow or other, however, he got his tricks a little mixed up: he’d saw a lady in half lengthwise, or pull a fox out of his hat instead of a rabbit.

It was all quite amusing until he tried the ‘severed thumb’ trick with his own head. The results, as you might guess, were unkind to viewers with weak constitutions.

…only after bald elf fled lab…

I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much, guys. I’m just a little stressed these days. There’s this…little sexual quirk I have, and a lot of people have been telling me I’m sort of sick for having it. ::sigh::

Oh c’mon, folks, this is a party.

grabs karaoke mic “If I had a hi-fi, Ya ha deedle deedle deedle deedle bum…”[/singing]

wanders over from the food table

Hey now, who ate the last of the double chocolate brownies? And who do I get the recipe from? Those were really good! Ah well, guess it’s my turn back at the mic.

[singing] Jenny, I’ve got your number, I need to make you mine. Jenny, don’t change your number, 8 6 7 5 3 0 9…(8 6 7 5 3 0 9)[/singing]

Ahh, the 80’s. Fun decade that.

Hey, calm down, have a beer. We’re all friends here, let’s talk about something else to take your mind off it. Seen any good movies lately?
Would it confuse you if I said Christmas Eve?
I really need a drink. Or maybe two. I hate road construction.

Heya Kat.

I thought I saw some cans of Guinnesss up the back. Fancy one of those?

Stands up and goes for the beer.

Road construction?
Ok, let me just whip up some cocktails here…who wants what?
Ahh… a cocktail. Just what the doctor ordered! I’ll take a Brandy Alexander.

Ahh… brandy alexanders… I remember drinking a snootful of B.A.'s in the backseat of a Buick Skylark parked on the shores of the Mississippi River with a certain young lady. Her name, by sheer coincidence, was also Brandy Alexander, if memory serves me correctly.

Brandy? Cognac is much better.

You sure have some great stories to tell there, Diomedes. What other exotic ocales have you visited?

MHaye! What have you been up to?

Wait, hold that thought. I’m going to attack the buffet table and be right back. I haven’t had anything except a mini Kit-Kat bar since lunch.

I spent last weekend in Tacoma, Washington. There was an adventurer’s conference in Seattle, and I couldn’t afford the hotel rates downtown.

LOL you guys are making me laugh so hard. You’re all so f’n QUIRKY and I keep going over what y’all are sayin but I just can’t put my finger on what it is that makes you so special. I like to feel dumb  hehehehe

MHaye, what do you have in that bag you brought?

Diomedes, have you ever written about any of your adventures?

lol I seriously have no idea what I’m doing here
I’M confused? I’m confused?

I’ve played this game hundreds of times already!!

Look, I’m sorry to get annoyed, but I know what I’m doing, okay?
Says you. You aren’t convincing the rest of us at all.

Information - share, now. If you’re really who you say you are, then you’d have nothing to hide, would you?

WOULD YOU?

Actually, I have a copy of my most recent monograph, which describe the last safari I went on. If you have a pen handy, I can autograph it for you.

Sounds good to me, can we get a couple of rum and cokes over here? (If Kat takes hers without rum, you can make mine a double  )

Construction is a pain, but you’re here now so relax and enjoy. We have all kinds of stuff, lots of great food, plenty to drink and a karaoke machine is set up with a great selection of songs. Twickster has a really good voice, maybe if we’re really nice we can coax her into doing another number for us.

Not a lot, to be honest. Let’s see…

My iPod - essential for long trips on public transport. Or any trips, really.
A map of the area, so I knew which route to take from the station.
Today’s paper, although goodnness knows why I kept it.
A puzzle book and a novel to while away the time on the trains.

Sorry, nothing worth talking about really.

blush

I never expected to be deified for my karaoke skills! Sure, I’d love to sing – any requests?

In the meantime, how about a party trick? Someone – pick a number between one and a bajillion…
