Pass the salt in the MMP

It was because she salted it without tasting it first

That depends upon the waiting list among other things…

Just off the phone again with FCD - he replaced the router and it’s visible to his devices, but it’s not getting an internet signal from the modem. All I could suggest was borrowing the modem from his brother and trying that to see if the modem is bad. I can’t do tech support - I need to lay hands on what I’m troubleshooting… My poor sweetie is so frustrated. He’s going to the cable company in the morning to try to swap out modems.

All of this because their TV died… Hey - can a bad modem fry a TV?? Or a router?? Or both??

I love Costco chicken! You’re right, it is a delicious bargain.

Moommm has he tried plugging an ethernet cable into the back of the router and connecting that to a device, to see if it’s actually working? I’ll stop now.

re: salt. There is no such thing as too much salt, but I don’t add salt without tasting food - other than popcorn.

Evening all. Swimming is done (900 yards of backstroking in less than 30 minutes), Soccer has been practiced and I let Mickey D’s prepare dinner (wanted a medium fry, got a X-large one and almost covered the plate with fries…ate them all, of course)…Dark Clouds have moved in, so may get some rain tonight, we’ll see (Just looked at the weather map and looks like it’s moving towards Red now, so she’ll get the rain). Digging around the house is complete and the grass has been (sort of) returned to it’s place, so whatever they were installing has been installed.

FCM, don’t know nothing about no modem or router…it either works or it doesn’t for me. Hope FCD can get it worked out. Along with the movement of said parents to your area.

Cookie, YEAH! for having the care back…are they going to replace the trim?

Nellie, hoping they get their thumbs out of their as…rectum and get bot breasts sounded.

Sari, Between the Dog Park Soap Opera and Arthur’s Itis, the last thing you need is a surly lawn guy. Be looking for other options.

Vow, do you use any of the 'salt substitutes" that are out there?

Dicey, safe travels and proper papers.

I get along OK with the basic Caesar croutons, but don’t like are the flavor variations.

OK, need to finish the night and then back to bed for another exciting day. All y’all take care.

Made cheese burgers with sauteed onions and poblanos and fries. And had an Old Fashioned.

It shouldn’t.

{{{{nellie}}} And third-ing keeping up with the doc.

Howdy y’all. I am still alive. A bad Mumper though. I still lurk and read all. There’s not much to report on my end. The incessant heat continues and it’s cramping my style. I want fall.

I do still plant something every day. I have a short step stool in my jungle cart cause I need to get down low to weed and such. I have multiple pots of various flowers and bulbs cooking at all times.

Sari take no shit from someone you pay. I was so lucky to find an excellent yard man that comes every Moanday for $100 a month. With a helper it only takes him about 40 minutes to mow, edge, whack and blow off the porches.

Mooomm. I’m so glad some progress is being made on the in-laws.

I went to a dermatologist for the first time ever because I had a suspicious mole pop up. It is only an age related thing and no need to worry. I was really worried about it due to its color. Doc said it’s all good.

Everyone else have a great new week. All you sickies please get well soon.

Edit to add I love salt and will cook with it but usually always add more at the table and pepper too. I probably wouldn’t have to take BP pills if I laid off the salt. Naw, not gonna happen.

Sorry to keep posting. The surgeon’s office refuses to order the screening ultrasound for the right side. They said the oncology office has to order that. It’s a good thing I called them, or this would’ve gone back to limbo. The oncology office didn’t answer their phone, so I left a VM asking them to please, please call me back today. Naturally they didn’t, so I’ll call again tomorrow. Thanks for all the encouragement, chums!

FCM, when we were kids, nursing homes were basically warehouses, but these days many of them have lots of activities and socialization geared toward people with cognitive impairment. But hopefully the assisted living place will suffice. It does have secure exits, right, like two sets of locked doors with keypads? Of course, if FIL doesn’t wander, it probably won’t matter. And it won’t have a buzzsaw or a car for him to drive. Will they be selling their car then?

I went to the gym. Between that and walking errands, I burned off 1,000 calories, so I’m gradually getting back to normal. Oh, and the dog’s person is feeling better, so no more dog-walking for me. I’ll miss that pup.

A couple of minutes ago I caught a giant house spider in the bathroom. I’ve relocated it to the pile of cedar bark, which I know has wood lice in it. (‘But I’m not looking for dinner! I’m looking for a mate!’)

Yep, and despite the lights, there was no internet.

It’s nearly midnight and I’m still awake. Not good… not at all…

Almost 21 o’clock. I guess I’d better crawl into my rack. Gotta get up at 04:30 for my long-ass commute.

±I found out what they do with some of the leftover chickens they don’t sell … They make chicken salad out of it and it’s pretty good you find it in the chilled section in the back usually but being Costco its a lot (we’ve never finished a whole container) … but one thing I have to add is some chopped-up grapes …mom put grapes in hers and it tastes weird to me if it doesn’t have them

poor spider he wants ass and gets food … such is the way of the world lol

Flyboy, if that spider were in my bathroom, he would get “relocated” to the compost bin, after having been smashed flat.
Sorry, I know most spiders are not harmful to humans, and get rid of nuisance insects, but… nope.
Live and let live if you’re outdoors; come into my house and you die.

Nellie, no need to apologize for posting too much.
Butters, no need to apologize for posting too little.
If the MMP has taught me anything, it’s that everyone is welcome here, as often or as seldom as they choose.

Except giant house spiders.

I always taste food someone else has made before salting, it would be rude to do otherwise. I do like salt and use it without care because something about my reaction to my BP meds stops me from absorbing enough sodium. My doctor and I go round and round about if we should change my meds or if I should just start taking salt tablets.

I’m also worried nellie! Keep on them!

FCM I agree that nursing homes have changed. My FIL’s was really nice (as it should have been, we were paying 3400 a month) and we have had other friends in facilities with different levels of care depending on their needs. ALL of them tried to do what they could to get their residents out and about and socializing.

Today was beautiful in the morning but got horrible humid around 11. I think our tomatoes are going to come back despite the beating they took, we have a couple of nice pink Romas hiding in the middle of one cage and the cherries are covered with flowers again.

The bidet thingy for Hubs’ toilet arrived today and I was going to install it after I cleaned up dinner (he cooked) but when he saw me opening the box he told me that we should wait until after our housekeeper was here because she didn’t need to see that.

There is a very good reason I smoke so much weed, guys. If I have a pipe in my mouth, I won’t chew my tongue off.

I’ll install tomorrow afternoon which will allow him to tell Housekeeper that I wanted one on both toilets. This will let him keep his Real Man reputation or something. /grabs pipe/

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

We like Fred!

I read that as Arthur’s tits

Safe travels!

From my FB memories today:
Marriage is like a deck of cards.
In the beginning, all you need is 2 hears and a diamond
At the end you’re wanting a club and a spade

They’ll be giving their car to their youngest son who’s currently driving a piece of crap held together by duct tape.

One thing FCD found out while checking out local facilities - “Memory Assisted Care” does not include one’s spouse. That is, if FIL were to go into assisted care, MIL couldn’t live with him. Not exactly sure why, but there ya go. So that’s right out. At the risk of sounding cold and heartless, I hope he dies before he gets to that point.

Yeah, I’m sure your housekeeper cares…

It was close to midnight-thirty before I finally fell asleep. I woke around 6, despite having an alarm set for 7. That means I’m up, showered, dressed, critters have been tended, and I’m almost done feeding my face. SIL will be bringing both grands over, so this will be a challenging day. I need to get Roxy to the nearby school at 2 for her evaluation - not sure what I’ll do with Tobias while she’s there. Then when she’s done, I’m taking both of them to their house, hoping my daughter won’t be too late.

So not a lot will be accomplished today. But I got a lot done yesterday - that should count for something.

Speaking of yesterday, a pest control guy came by and tried to sell us his services, talking about all the creepy-crawlies just waiting to overtake our home and yard. He asked about our current treatment - I said we’ve never had any.

He never stopped smiling and making small chat between sales pitches. He’s going to give us such a deal since he’s doing 6 other houses in the neighborhood already!! I dunno - even with a dog and 2 cats, our house isn’t overrun with fleas or ticks, the spider webs around the outside are more of an annoyance than a pest, and in 18 years, we’ve never had a mouse issue. I’m not sure what we’d be paying him for. I put him off saying I’d have to discuss it with spousal unit, and he finally left. I should never have answered the door.

But that’s in the past. Let’s see what today holds. Happy Tuesday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. The thrill of it all is almost too much! Other than that the usual sloth and general overall uselessness shall prevail. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy.

Nellie stay on 'em and don’t let 'em give you the runaround. If needed we can send the PSWSLNS over.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Morning everyone [looks at calendar]… Happy Tuesday. It’s 77F outside and only supposed to reach 90 today. Yay.

My eye is finally clearing up and the floater thingies are mostly out of the way. I can read and watch TV easier – which is good 'cuz that’s all I’m allowed to do. I’m living teenage me’s dream: Sit on couch with Doritos, watch TV and nap, do no chores. I guess it’s only fun for a week or so. I got the lawn guys restarted, and mizPullin’s keeping up with everything else.

I have managed to entertain myself with a new game, called “Goad the relatives”. They call to inquire, and indulge their need to give advice. So I pick one side or the other of the “Restrict all Activities” instructions from my Doc, and see what they’ll do. If I tell them I haven’t moved for several hours, they’ll advise me to walk around and get more exercise. If I tell them I’ve been on short walks, they’ll switch to stern commands to watch myself and be more still. Just took a shower? Don’t need to do that every day! Been two days since a bath? Hygiene is key and you need to take more care!. I’m trying to think of today’s entertainment. Netflix only goes so far yanno?

Binge-watched all the Lincoln-Lawyer, and am now starting on Pine Gap. I rewatched all of Perry Mason’s seasons and can now give legal advice. If you’re on trial for anything, the best defense is to surprise the judge and prosecutors with new evidence they’ve never seen. Then the actual perp will go into histrionics and confess. Jeez, this so simple – why do people need to spend so much time getting law degrees? I guess I’ll start learning medicine next.

Next week I go to the docs for another evaluation to see if the retina’s still out of danger, and maybe can get cleared at least some activity. This will cause a whirlwind of relative-lectures but I’ll manage.

Sorry for grumbling – I hope everyone has a good week!

Maybe you’ve taken up juggling? Yoga? Origami?
What would they say about that?
