Of all of the movies I expected to get a sequel this was not one of them. I will leave it to you folks to come up with a good subtitle.

I didn’t watch the first movie. Was there something at the end of the credits that suggested this might happen?
I thought the main character died in the end.
He arises from the dead three days later. This is consistent with the story line.
Its actually a trilogy, next will be Passion of the Christ: Apocalypse.
I read that that was his stunt double. It was a Spaceballs homage.
Ahhh, sci-fi.
A very well read story with a strong readership following. The story arc is very well known and predictable. You dont even have to do much by way of having script writers.
The second segment should not be as shocking as the first one, as there isnt any violence. The third in the series should be spectacular.
The Passion of the Christ II:
He’s Back and He’s Pissed.
Only if he follows up with the Apocalypse. If done correctly it could be interesting.
Has there ever been a mainstream movie depicting it? Lots of Jesus movies have been made, but I can’t recall one that went full out on the last chapter.
Too much water into wine, I guess. Resurrecting does dehydrate you.

You know, when they wanted to do a sequel to the TV miniseries Franco Zeferelli’s Jesus of Nazareth they called it A.D.
The reception will be watered down by all the fanfiction that stole the essentials of the original’s storyline, though. It’s like watching Citizen Kane, and being blasé about all the innovative camera work, because so many later movies copied it.
