I saw Goodfellas on HBO early this morning and noticed that, near the end of the film, when Hill was talking to the babysitter on the phone, the sitter is handling a US passport. The front of the passport is blacked out.
What gives? Is this some sort of Patriot Act issue?
I don’t remember the scene in the way you specifically described it. All I remember was that she had tickets (and not a passport) in her hand, and the name of the airline (which was printed on the sleeve of the ticket jacket) was censored with a black bar.
My guess is that because she was smuggling drugs, the producers of the movie didn’t want to drag the name of a legitimate airline down. Anyway, it had nothing to do with the Patriot Act as it’s on the VHS copy I had since the early '90s.
Unless you’re talking about something else?
Nope…that’s it. Looked like a passport to me, but then, it was pretty early when I was watching the film. (Good film, btw)
Thanks for the clarification, sir viks!
